Hi all, quick question. I installed a Cmore quad rail float tube a few weeks ago. Didn't notice until after it was installed that the front sight tower was touching the float tube. So...got my trusty tools out, vised the action in an action block and took the tube off and removed some material at the front of the 12 oclock rail to give plenty of clearance for the front sight tower. Put everything back together and now it sure does not seem as accurate as it did with the stock handguards. This is a preban Colt 6700 with stock heavy colt barrel. Yes, it's chrome lined, but it was shooting into 3/4 to 1" before. Now it is more uniform than when the tower was touching, but groups have opened up to 1 1/2 to 2 or more at 50 yards! So...did I miss something? I checked the torque on the barrel nut and it's well within spec, tube isn't touching anywhere. Everything functions smoothly. Thanks guys.
