I've been looking around recently at different manufacturers such as Bushmaster, Olympic Arms, and Colt.  All have their own M4 and to me (new to gun community) they all look good.  What makes these guns different and which of the three would be the best choice for me (cost no issue, but between these three only).  I would appreciate any advise you all could give me as I want my first purchase to be a good one.

If cost is no issue get a preban Bushmaster flat top and rebarrel it with a 14.5" 1/7 twist Bushmaster M4 barrel and put a Vortex, Phantom or BiLock flash hider on it to make it 16" and be a non NFA length.

If you buy new just get the Colt as its the easiest way to get the 1/7 twist barrel.

Brent,

I went through the same decision awhile back and I decided on the Colt for the following reasons:

- Came standard with 1/7 twist
- Came standard with M4 hand guards
- Came standard with M4 feed ramps
- Came standard with side sling mount
- Had the RAS numbers on the flattop
- Had "M4 Carbine" stamped on the lower (I know it's dumb and adds nothing to the rifle but I thought it is was cool).

I thought the Colt was a better value for MY dollar, YMMV.  This
thread has a lot of great information and may help you with your decision too.  Personally, I don't think you could go wrong with either the Bushmaster or Colt.  I can't comment on the Olympic because I don't own one and have never shot one but I do know that they don't have chrome-lined barrels.

Thanks for the help guys.  I talked to Colt and they said there was a 2-3 month wait so I think I'm going to go with the Bushmaster since my local dealer just got one in.
