Help please...... how does the pin that holds the upper and lower come out?  Is there a trick to removing this?  Thanks in advance for the help.

The pin holding the lower comes out when you remove the stock, the receiver plate washer comes off exposing a hold in the receiver, the hole house the detent and the detent spring. carefully dump out the spring and the detent, the rear take down pin will drop out of your receiver.

The front is removed by using a very thin steel pin. On the right side of the receiver(magazine release size), the receiver have channel at the top edge, on that channel there is a very small hole, you can use the pin to pull back on the spring inside, and that way, the detent pin will drop into the channel and out of the way of the front take down pin.  pull the take down pin out carefully, since the spring behind it will come flying out.

Or if you have one of those dental pick(thin ones), you can hook the edge of the pick under the front take down pin, and try to push the detent pin down. and then carefully pull the take down pin out.

Hope this helps.

Not to offend the original poster, but questions like this scare the shit outta me.

Depends if you are:
1)pivoting the rifle open
2)completely seperating the upper & lower
-or-
3)disassembling the lower

SMGLee,
What is a receiver plate washer?  My detent spring is held in place by the stock directly.  Mine is an A2 stock, by the way.

Thanks,
Bradd
