I just bought an Advanced Armament rail to put on the bottom of some Colt double lined handguards.  I have to remove the inner heat shield and it is glued in on all four corners.  Any one have any experience getting that glue out to remove the shield?  I assume that is some tough a$$ glue to stand the heat that could be put on it. Last option would be buying a longer screw and drilling a hole in the solid heatshield but I would prefer not to do that. Thanks for the help.

Did you try pinching the edges together? Sometimes the edges just sit in slots.

If not, remove the glue an d use JB Weld to replace it.

I am not sure what type of glue. It looks like they put it in the slots for both the shields.  I have read different stories on this board why the glue was used. One line said they did not want the soldiers fooling with them.  Another was the sheilds started to rattle with hard use and the glue was used to eliminate noise.  I  have seen several of these with glue at different gun shows and Knob Creek this past weekend so I know these are not some knockoff.
I have tried to pop them out and just ended up bending the shield.  When I talked to GG&G about their rail, they said they used a micro torch to melt the glue. I appreciate any insight you all can give.
