I used to have a A2, then a collapsible and now a C1 stock with this BCM HF upper. This is honestly the one gun regardless of stock used on it I would not get rid of. Just cleaned up the lower and installed a ALG QMS. It’s a bit portly but it works.

Need a Surefire scout and a smaller laser.

It’s probably just me, but your rifle has a post apocalyptic look to it. I like it.

I think it’s the combination of the paint & handguard… did you chop it?

18 inch faxon gunner, ALG 25 dollar handguard, DD 1.5 front sight, Ruger Birdcage, USMC Bayo, Chopped .625 Bushmaster gas block was 7 bucks, 25 dollar A1 type D stock, ALG Trigger, Geiselle Super 42, Cotton M1 Garand Sling, Krylon, Aim nickle Boron Bolt. This is my best shooting rifle by far and probably cheapest  Thanks . I tried to follow the modern WWSD . Its the same weight as an M16A1 . Im thinking of getting a non forward assist and lighweight BCG but the rifle is reliable as is. I think 6.5 pound loaded and very very accurate to 300

This is my favorite AR. I have a second lower and will be getting the same upper, probably fixed sights on that. I have a set of Daniel Defenses, somewhere...
KP15, PSA 16" pencil barrel upper, Leupold 2.5x20 in an Aero mount, Streamlight Polytac in an Odin Works mount. Six pounds before the sling and QD mount added. Ignore the other fixed stock gun.

That’s a nice combo

Thank you! Here's the new upper, still waiting on KE parts, particularly their safety. Using my highly scientific weight measuring method, aka standing on a scale with and without the rifle, the new upper on the old (completed) lower weighs 5.8 pounds with the DD sights and a sling.

I've seen others with that set up before, but I haven't seen a pic thread dedicated to it. If there is, please direct me there. If there isn't, let's start one.

This is the first rifle I've put together in that configuration. I tried a few new (to me) things, the most obvious being the mating of a 16 inch barreled upper with a fixed stock A2 lower. I'm lovin' it.

First time I've used a RDS mounted any higher than a lower 1/3 co-witness. The slight increase in height is perfect for this rifle and helps alleviate the annoying A2 stock GONNNGGG!!! felt with every shot fired. And it is mounted to a bombproof fixed A2 sight/riser.

First time I've ever rattle canned one of my rifles. I'm diggin' it.

First time I have ever put FDE furniture on an ODG rifle. I've wanted to ever since I saw some old HK 416s issued that way. Looked a little weird to me at first, but it has definitely grown on me. I think I'll call the color scheme 416 camo

First time I have ever mounted a light that wasn't originally made to be mounted on a weapon. (1,000 Lumen Surefire P3X Fury in a basic GG&G mount) It's a little long, but fits perfectly on this pig.

Damn sure on the hefty side, but I think it's pretty groovy overall.

Blue Force Gear

You can also Google “A2 3-Point Sling”, as this is a rear attachment point for those setups.

While not a A1 or A2, still a fixed stock.  RRA Entry stock with A2 buttplate.  I have removed it in lieu of a CAR setup, but I liked it enough it's still on my parts box for a future build.

Cool, just to be clear though since you asked about my rifle in the picture, the sling itself is Blue Force Gear, but the butt stock adapter is Viking Tactics. I’m sure the BFG adapters work fine too, but I don’t own any.

Put together from used parts, spares, and sale/clearance items.
Attachment Attached File

Anderson lower
Lpk a mix of PSA and CMMG
Ruger grip
Magpul trigger guard
UTG rifle buffer tube and buffer
Aero buffer spring
Remington A2 stock body
Anderson buttplate and sling loop
PTAC 1/7 nitride barrelled upper
Chopped A2 fsb which was canted
PSA bcg and charging handle
Troy Bravo quad rail
Older Strikefire 2
DIY sling

Can hit 6" gong from 50 yds consistently offhand, so even though it looks horrible, it does a good enough job.

I like it, only things I'd suggest is adding a cheap set of BUIS's and placing the optic a bit further forward.

+1

If it were mine (and it ain’t), I’d repaint the entire rifle; barrel, rail, receivers, stock, grip, & optic - everything.

A quick and sloppy rattle can camo job would look great and IMO would be better than the self-adhesive wrap.

I’ve certainly thought about that, but I’m a lean 6’ with long arms, so the A2 works fine for me. I don’t wear body armor when shooting my rifles with fixed stocks, so that’s a non-issue as well.

Thanks, I’m a fan of the KE polymer lowers. Built it up for my ultralight/WWSD style build. (I guess it also qualifies for this thread). The upper is a parts bin mutt hence the odds and ends like an A2X flash hider and flat slip ring. Had the scope, barrel, and handguards on hand and filled in the rest. All factory FDE parts but has more variation in person. Fun little project

Aforementioned lightweight

Also helped a buddy put together an 18” coyote gun with a KE lower
