This thread has been too quiet so I am going to throw up a photo or two. This is my not quite finished build. Waiting to get my 14.5" Criterion Core back from the gunsmith for a pin and weld of an ASR flash hider, hopefully this week. This has an Aero Precision M4E1 receiver set in ODG. Geissele MK 16 rail and ACH. Radian Talon ambi safety. MBT trigger. Also have a ODG Unity Tactical Fast mount that will be getting mounted up.

Added some black and brown to the lower AR for some contrast. The two greens I used were too similar.

That I can't tell you. John Thomas at Retro Arms Works used to do it. He is covered up with so much with other work he is no longer doing it for now. This is what a original set just sold for on GB  https://www.gunbroker.com/item/972755326 It is a "B" stock for where mine is the first production "A" stock. The difference can be seen in the curve of the stock where it meets the lower.

OD green ftw.  Basically a URGI, but in green, which I prefer.  Hopefully going to stretch this one with some 77 grain smks and see what happens.  The Cloud Defensive OD green is more of a bazooka green.  Ranger Green Vickers VCAS.

If price is a factor, the EOTech is pretty good. But I’m a glass snob and the Vortex is noticeably better than any LPVO I’ve ever looked through. It’ll make a “just as good” fudd rethink his life.

I'm not entirely convinced that geissele rifles are worth the cost, but God damn that's a beautiful AR. On the other hand, I came home from some dumb work training yesterday and was wearing a green shirt under a green flannel and had a green hat. My girlfriend looked at me like I was an idiot and then pretty much told me I'm an idiot. I tried to counter that it matched and was an "outfit". Pretty sure I lost, but still not sure why

ADM hotness! Can’t wait for my CORE barrel to come in so I can build it out.

Are those factory built ADM’s? How do they run?

Lol. Two!

My 12.5" was 3 orders. The lower and upper came from two different moonshine kits last July 4th, and the rail came from a tabbed upper/rail combo during the same sale. The upper that came with the rail didn't match very well.

The 10.3 was a non-blem receiver set that matches (lower not in picture), and the Mk14 was a blem rail that I couldn't find any blems on and happens to match really well too.

Yes. To much of a cheapass to pay someone to do it. Could be better, but it was a first. Next one should be better as I learned a lot from this one.

Anybody know where I can get some ODG KAC style rail panels that aren't junk before I rattle-can these?

Well KAC makes them in green, but may be hard to find.

For the purpose of looks, Evike / Matrix Airsoft knock offs may work. They are all plastic anyway.

How rigid does that ADM rail feel? I wasnt super confident it would be rigid enough for a bipod so ended up going with a G rail instead, but I like the color of the ADM better.

Pretty damn solid for it having some lightening cuts here and there. Its thickness is still on par with most rails. It has a small index pin that fits into the upper receiver. A cross bolt that keeps the rail from moving forward / backwards…then 2 tapered screws to clamp the slotted portion of the rail onto the barrel nut.

Barrel nut is absolutely thicker and better built than the Geissele. I own two MK16 rails as well.

Damage Industries

They’re showing ODG as not available now, but the foliage green is close- I have examples of each. The foliage green is a slightly lighter color and has less brown than OD, but the difference is subtle. They’re decent covers- pretty thick, maybe 0.5 mm thicker than the Troy BattleRail covers, and sturdy. I might have read that they’re thicker than the KAC covers.

Troy Industries BattleRail Covers - I recently picked up a set of 3 of them in FDE for a price I couldn’t pass up, and they seem fine as well, but haven’t used them yet. They slide onto the rail and snap in place. Can’t find them in OD green anywhere, but there are photos of them in OD green online.

ETA: Falcon Industries Long Solid Rail Cover

I picked up a couple of short ones in FDE- they’re pretty hard to snap onto a rail, but warming them up in hot water might help. PK is going out of business, so these are available for pretty cheap, but the shipping is expensive. There are some other good deals there that might make the shipping worthwhile. Mine say Ergo on the logo- IIRC, Falcon and Ergo are the same company, or something like that.

@PistonGuyFromLA are those both ODG ADMs? I’m assuming there’s some variation from batch to batch.

I don’t think the bottom is anodized OGD. Maybe Cerakote?

The dark green is cerakote and the lighter green is anodized. The cerakote is smooth AF. It's my favorite rifle for sure.
And isn't bad, it's just flashy and not very durable. Just banging around the gun safe will leave you with bare metal scars.

The ODG Cerakote is factory and i've got a Bronze ano that's factory but I built the ano green. It took for f-ing ever to find a Criterion 13.9 barrel. I put in-stock notification on probably 20+ websites finally got a notice months later. They're amazing rifles. You made a good choice. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
