Testing out some different optics setups while I listen to conference calls and wait on parts for the Block II fuckery and a new (to me) riser for the MRE. Probably putting the Tri-mount and ACOG combo with the RIS II.

I thought I'd like the ACOG on carry handle vibe, but it didn't do it for me. 5000 on A.R.M.S. rail is just peak carry handle.

This reminds me.. about a certain 9000sc waiting on a certain dude... LOL

I think the ACOG would look best on an A2 imo

Well here she is! Barrel came in today. Optic is just a place holder until I find a good deal on an optic to sit up top. Debating between NX8/NXS 2.5-10 or any 2-10 scope with zero stop. She’s heavy, but sometimes the heavy ones are the most fun to play with

Trust me, your post has had me looking around for some, and I may be able to get one sorta locally at primary arms. Not even a 3 hour round trip and I can pick some other stuff if I run into the city. 2 questions, how’s the reticle at 2x? Usable? And does it have a zero stop? I haven’t been able to find if it does. The only reason I would like one is because hunting last year in west Texas I had a scope with exposed turrets go way off, luckily I noticed before I shot.

It's payback for you guys making me spend. GWOT karma is real, breh. I was perfectly fine just doing a Block 1 and MRE, now I can't keep up in the optics department because it's easier to drop some here and there to build an upper than it is to save up for a quality optic.

I saw that block 2 rail grab! That might be the one that does it. My problem is lowers....when I gotta shell out over a G just to build an actual rifle.... most things lose their appeal.

You can use it at 2x, well I can. I can see the entire cross, and the larger lines. Lume on, I can see the cross, the large lines and most of the "tree".
Ive tried several times to get a picture but my phone won't do it. It comes out blurry.

They have "return to zero" which is a fancy way to say zero stop lol

Nope, I’m only allowed to build off lowers that were manufactured prior to the 94 AWB. If it was manufactured post 94 it’s a no go. So not only do you have to pay $1000+ for a lower, but it’s a lower over 30 years old with shitty ass machining. So that’s primarily the reason I only have on small frame and one large frame. I can have all the C&R I want tho....

I had my eyes on that one too. I've come across a lot of mk18 rails with lot/date, but not the m4a1. Glad someone in the thread snagged it.

Selfishly I'm glad you didn't! It's supposed to be here Monday. Now the true test to see if I can stick to my original plan and wait until the barrel is chopped, or get excited and bolt it all up then use the excuse of it's just easier to leave it alone.

Side note: WTF USPS.  I mailed something Monday that still isn't delivered, yet this part is shipped yesterday and scheduled to be here Monday.  Different routes, sure. USPS just sucks lately.

I can't remember.  I had never heard of the company before.  If I saw the name I'd recognize it.  It was a thread style that takes a nut on the back.  Maybe $15 if I remember.

Also, is a Classified Defense RIS II wrench worth it if this is my only RIS II? Honestly if I get it chopped, pinned and welded they will have to build it up for me. Are there cheaper but not bendy alternatives?

Fuck no.

Don't get me started on usps... against my better judgement I sent another m.o. to a different seller and it better get there. Haven't had a good track record lately.

It's nice to have a lot no./dated rail. They aren't too common. I'm hoping to find a marked non fsb m4 ris ii. I want to run a ta01 on it and the fsb shadow can get on my nerves.

I really need to get another ACOG for this build. I keep going back and forth on whether or not I should have ripped it from the MRE. The shit just works with that setup and I feel like I'm tempting the GWOT gods by not just accepting their good graces.

Mostly rubbing alcohol and a plastic bristle scrub brush.

I did use acetone and steel wire brush on a couple spots though.

I love salty paint, but idk, i love the way the su230 looks natural more.

I didn't want it to take too much off honestly. Like the mount is almost completely paint still.

I do need to figure out the white paint. That crap is being difficult.

Ya, the white paint is somewhat strange. How many ppl put primer down before painting up their their guns/optics/etc...?

My first AR that has gone through so many changes over the years. I think the only things left from the original are the upper, lower, buffer tube and some of the LPK.

It started life as a Stag 2T with 16” barrel with A2 front sight and a Midwest drop in quad rail. Now has a WOA SS 16” barrel, Midwest FF rail, Daniel defense gas block, Larue MBT trigger, Seekins ambi safety, AIM NIB BCG, Badger Condition 1 Mount holding a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x24 scope. Not pictured is the Silencerco Omega that goes on the ASR brake. It has Magpul Pro 45 degree backups, but I might change that to a offset red dot.

I'm going through all 800+ pages on the B2 thread. Please tell me someone somewhere used a 249f on one. Bonus points for a FSB flavor. Y'all know I gotta keep this shit weird.

Got a new magpul bipod for this beauty, it’ll probably end up on another gun when I get a bipod mount for a Harris. Attachment Attached File
