Not with the full mass, but I’m running several of their LMOS QPQ carriers. NO ONE has better workmanship than J.P. Enterprises! They’re a work of art, the carrier feels like it’s on ball bearings. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

anybody have any experience with the JP Rifles full-mass BCG? NO ONE has better workmanship than J.P. Enterprises! They’re a work of art, the carrier feels like it’s on ball bearings. If I could go back in time, I would have nothing but JP, Youngs, or Daniel Defense all in chrome, for all of my rifles. |

Who makes PSAs BCs in their budget Melonite Uppers?
Are they any good? |

I haven't seen the JP in person, but I have a DD chrome BCG and it is a work of art. Expensive though

I feel your pain but also cannot blame you if you decide on a BCM BCG. I typically purchase DD on the mil/le discount and get them for a better rate however they're still expensive. ToolCraft is a great alternative however their firing pin takedown cotter pin sometimes doesn't line up as easily. It's a great value BCG but ultimately your choice. My experience is not or might not be yours, per say.

I have a few PSA premium BCGs and while great stuff I doubt the bolts are Toolcraft.
BCGs probably, bolts probably not. I haven't run as many rounds as most of you guys but have never seen a NiB flake off like the one earlier in this thread. That was THICK. I've also gotten away from Carp 158 bolts, didn't the military also? I also think most have gotten away from HPT, so if you see that on a bolt is it old stock? I run 5.56's and 22 Noslers, some fairly hot loads, with PSA, BCA (side chargers) and St. Croix Tactical (not the fishing pole company) BCGs. This one runs and cleans up easily for me. $100 bucks shipped. https://www.stcroixtactical.com/collections/ar15/products/sct-nickel-boron-bolt-carrier-group-ar15-m16 |

However their premium line has proven itself over and over again. Pay more if you want. Besides bolts are cheap you should always have spares in those nifty grip compartments. PSA is all about economy of scale. When you can buy 3 PSA premium vs one BCM who I believe to be equally well made it’s a no brainer |

PSA Premium carriers may or may not be TC. PSA will no longer confirm/deny this. From the TC webpage: "Our carriers come with a variety of options and are all manufactured to customer print and specifications within our facility in Marion, North Carolina. We manufacture over 9,000 carriers per week each available with Chrome/Phosphate, Nickel Boron or machined to satisfy all our customers." |

I bought a PSA premium for my A4 clone build $49.99 free shipping before Christmas. Arrived in three days. Not sure if they are still that price or $59 now.

I use mostly Bootleg BCGs. They are excellent and I can’t say enough good things about them. I also have some FNs and Colts, but the bootlegs are just very well made.
Small Arms Solutions has a great video on BCGs. Worth the watch |

Are they made by the same manufacturer that made their AR Stoner components? I am not sure if they ever improved, but I doubt I will ever get past the junk they were pumping out during the Sandy Hook panic. If not, do you know who makes Brownells BCGs, by chance? It's fine, I'm still waiting patiently for Young Mfg to finish their next production run so I can go blow $200 on another chrome national match carrier. Friggin works of precision art those thing. (I'm of the opinion that the LMT or Surefire are the only worthwhile enhanced BCGs.) |

Quoted: The top picture is mine. It was WMD. The others were collected from other people having similar issues, I don't know what brand they were. I agree - not all NiB is equal - but even TOP manufacturers/coating specialists have seen bad batches. I have zero interest in this anymore as (i believe) it provides zero real world benefit. Phosphate/Chrome lined, or Nitride for me. View Quote |

Bump as I need a good, but budget BCG for a build for my son. I tend to over analyze things.

I'm probably alone, but it seems like I'm getting a lot of BCGs that are really tight. Hundreds of rounds until the bolt moves freely. Carriers that need to get pushed really hard to snap onto a BEV block. Retainer pins flared to hell that won't go back in easily. Doesn't hurt a thing, just observations. View Quote |
