I got lucky with my setups. 3 different barrels, different manufacturers, all get 7 turns.

How do I determine which collar I need?

As far as the chop goes, if it's setup for ops already prior to the chop, adco will reprofile the end of the barrel to move the step back so you get the proper spacing. If it is not profiled prior, you will need a barrel that has a diameter of 0.750" from the gas block journal to the thread shoulder in order to have it profiled correctly to accept a standard long collar. If you use a barrel with a smaller diameter, you can still have it profiled and have the step added, however, you'll have to contact Ron Allen at Allen Engineering to have a custom long collar made with a smaller inner diameter.
