Thanks for your insight.
I keep seeing Mk6 deals popping up and it always tempts me.

I had the opportunity to mess with a Kahles, Razor, and Nx8
I just wish the Razor was ~17-18oz

I'm still pinching pennies for a Kahles ,but the Razor keeps looking more interesting due to price.
(I guess i'm just itching to spend money on something lol)

What is the proper buffer weight for this rifle?

H2 from what I’ve read. I’m using the Geissele Super 42 spring with H1 and it runs good.

I'm using an A5-3 with green spring in mine, but I had a few sporadic failures to lock back on empty Gen M3 PMAGs. I'm going to try the standard A5 buffer next weekend, which I assume will fix it. But that's what got me wondering about the over-gassed comment, I've used the same buffer setup on my Noveske and BCM for thousands of rounds and never had that issue.

I don't know much about the Super 42 spring system. I am assuming that you can use a standard H2 buffer with it instead of having to spend $20 on an extra weight to take the standard H up to a H2?

I haven't confirmed it, but Geissele says you have to use their buffer. Makes sense, smaller inner diameter on the Super 42 spring.

Geissele H1 and Colt H2 side by side for comparison. I’ve been running the Colt H2 with the Geissele Super 42 Spring in both my URG-I’s. No issues. Attachment Attached File

I'd have to put the calipers to them but they don't appear to be all that different in diameter in those pics.

I know that most people in this thread are looking forward to seeing the Army SF fielding these and seeing what optics they run, but is anyone else excited to see all of the random “been there, done that”, painted up, used and abused M4 lowers that these new uppers get attached to? Or am I just a rare breed?

Speaking of paint, I’m leaning hard towards painting mine. Just worried it’ll come out retarded since I’ve never done it before.

Got mine yesterday. Didn't get a chance to really go through everything and take some poorly lit photos until today. Excited to get out there and shoot it. And order my light and RC1.

Never hurts to have options. Still trying to figure out what I should run.

I borrowed my Brownells H2 buffer from another lower.

Regarding the diameter difference, in another comment, I haven’t ran into any issues.

I ordered mine from Charlies as well, Clone Correct Pinned with Geissele Vortex mount. They told me to expect it in 2-3 weeks, so we shall see.

I've got a Colt M4 lower, Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch, and Colt Ambi safety coming shortly for it as well. B5 Enhanced Sopmod and Ergo grip waiting in the safe with the Razor. I guess I'll order the proper light and can with the coupons one the upper gets here. I haven't been this pumped about a clone build well ever.

Keep pinching for the K16... it is worth it, although nothing you listed is a bad option.

CSTactical often has trade show demo Kahles optics at excellent prices. I think ~1515 was about the mark for demo K16s with G4 and SM1 reticles.

Copy that on the lead.
I might have to bite on a SM1 if I see a price like that.
While not clone correct, the k16 in 3GR is pretty sweet and will most likely end up on this Urg.
(Assuming... I don't blow my wad prematurely on other glass deals... )

For my eyes the Razor/k16 really stood out in terms of Glass clarity/eye box.

I'll keep an eye out.

I tried to do a comparison test between different buffer spring setups. It didn't go too well because they all felt somewhat similar.

Left has Tubbs spring w/ Spikes T2 buffer, middle has VLTOR A5 system w/ A5H2 buffer, and right has Geissele Super 42 spring w/ H2 buffer.

I've been playing with the A5, Sprinco springs, all different weights of buffers.  None of them do anything appreciably different than a carbine spring and H or H2.

If it doesn't run on a carbine spring and an H or H2 buffer, get a better barrel.

Interesting. Guess I had missed this in the shuffle. Mine's a complete clone, so maybe it was just the near clones?

Reached out to their Customer service to find out if I should have got one.

Also, didn't get this at Charlie's. May be a deal from them.
