What MLOK mount did you use?

Just got my URGI yesterday. Overall its a quality piece......obviously not clone correct. I have a mk14 13" DDC handguard as well and the Mk16 is about a 1/2" longer and machined a bit thicker and is more sturdy if that makes sense. Not the width of the actual rail just the materials used, it seems like there is more meat. im gonna swap all the non clone correct parts and RUN IT!

Arisaka FDE, idk what model or anything, got it in a trade. Mounts like a champ, had 3 sets of holes to offer a light, had to offset to the right all the way. It's stupid compact for a big light, if they use an intellibeam in the field like we saw in testing photos, this is the way to go. Only problem is, suppressor latch is a little on the hard to get side, but totally doable

I just added one of the pre-orders to my cart and it shows a $30 discount.

I ordered mine at the first of May and the 10% off code worked on the urgi but not geissele triggers.

Also put 300rds through mine suppressed and unsuppressed ran flawless. Over all I like it a lot just doesn’t have the same nostalgia as a ris ii.

No.  I also think a lot is changing in the to-be spec.  I am guessing September-ish, but as soon as I guess, there will be an announcement, and I will be off by 3 to 5 months.

it'd be awesome if the first round of pre-ordered complete uppers were clone correct, but it sounds like the clone correct upper will be a ways out

Thinking about getting a upper in a few weeks.

going for the stripped version for now.

So the non clone correct items are just the gas block and the upper right?

I have a extra colt upper/BCG so all I need it the correct MK12 gas block and SF 4p or open tined warcomp right?

Gonna run a SU231A until I can get a Vortex razor 2.

Thanks

Correct. .mil is going to run the 4p, no warcomp currently. Dimples for the gas block already in the barrel, lines up perfectly with the mk12 block

It’s just a standard milspec square forge upper reciever, not being colt/fn makes it non clone correct.

It also has the not-white-painted top number lettering that matches the rest of the rail.

This is actually a really cool feature even though not clone-correct.

Signature reduction is going to become a huge issue in the future, as our opponents begin to acquire NODs. The last thing you want on your gear is bright white lettering all over it. It sticks out real bad. Even from farther away.

Not having the painted T markings is definately an improvement if you are not concerned with cloning.

I guess. I'm not particularly worried about the T markings showing, they are usually covered by optics anyway. If you are worried about signature reduction, black isn't the best choice for the upper.

Yep. The whole rifle shines like a diamond under NODs when hit with I.R. illumination. Its not as bad with Colt and FNs (mil line) anodizing, but commercial ano like DDs, Anderson, BCM etc with higher gloss shine like a diamond in a goats ass.

The upper that comes on the Brownells URG?

If Conners hasn't been swapped out for a Colt yet I'm sure he will do it. Conner, hit it with onboard IR illum on a Colt lower and snap a pic @Conner378

I got lucky and scored a really nice 14 from Nightlong.

On a side note I really liked shooting Connor's URGI. As soon as I can get the rail independent I will build one.

Sorry be away for a couple of days and my URGI was off getting a pin & weld. But colt does have some stupid crazy anodizing... Also the acog you can see has a very visible signature under IR light. Here is my Hk vs The URGI which has a colt upper and lower reciever.

I agree. Based on that picture with that background it seems the hk rec and the colt dust cover stick out more. The rails and the colt rec have more neutral tones.

I have another question about the upper receivers that are being used on these. I remember seeing somewhere that these uppers are being assembled at Daniel Defense after geissele sends the parts. Is Daniel Defense supplying the uppers? All my DD receivers are square forge uppers so it got me thinking.

Almost like the muzzle device is too long, the M-LOK slots don't go far enough back, or something.
