Hey guys I have a FN BCG and I was cleaning it today and I noticed that part of the bolt carrier key was dented in the top left corner or at least looked like it. is that normal? none of my other ars look like that but I dont know how it could of happend. Will it cause issues? I will include pics. Thanks.

How does your gas tube look inside the upper receiver?

It looks fine its just weird considering I have not fired the rifle.

Gas keys will dent like that when dropped on a concrete floor.  Sometimes the dent causes a malfunction if it doesn't seal properly around the gas tube.  If the BCG moves smoothly in and out of battery it will probably be fine.  You are going to have to test fire it to see.  David

You can reform it with a punch that has a large enough cone or take the edge off with a round file.
It does not look deep enough to cause a problem, but if the gas tube were to catch on it the tube could be damaged.
