Yeah the receiver had the BURST and M4 crosses off and AUTO and M4A1 was engraved instead. So for my UID tag I should just stick to the known part number for the M4A1 posted here?

It did have the BURST and the M4 markings crossed off and instead it had AUTO and M4A1 on the receiver.

So for my own mk18 block III build would I better off going with the standard colt part number and disregard this FN one?

Wow that was a long hang-fire.

Mk18 Block 3? I didn’t know that was a thing. Is it the short Geissele URG-I?  Anyway for a Mk18 you should use an M4A1 UID. Only a few Mk18 Mod0s were on old M16A1 lowers.

Yeah my phone messed up and I didn’t think it posted so when I went to write another post they both popped up lol.

Yeah a “block III” has a Geissele rail on the front. It didn’t really exist but it’s more common now or so I’ve seen. Good to know about the UID I’ll be placing my order tonight!

What brand lower receiver will you use?

I’ve bought a couple of tags from CLW and they are awesome.  One I have on my SOPMOD Block 1 clone and the other I got for my Glock 19 Gen5 MOS.  Haven’t put it on so far.

Has anyone used the tag on the bottom of a Glock trigger guard?  Any issues with it when shooting 2 handed and your support hand finger rubbing on it while shooting?  I haven’t mounted mine yet and don’t want to have an issue and not be able to get it back off.

I added a Glock cage code for the Headquarters and main factory of Glock in Deutsch-Wagram, Austria - S5591.  Looking up the Deutsch-Wagram, Ferlach and Smyrna cage codes, Armyproperty.com only shows NSN's with the USA-Smyrna cage of 0N2S7.  It shows 95 NSN's of mostly parts but also 7 Glock pistols, most being 19's.  This would indicate to me that the USA Glock cage would be the most correct since apparently that entity is where the US military obtains Glock pistols and parts.  Glock-Ferlach, cage of 0143N, I don't believe they manufacture Glock pistols.  Maybe parts but I want to say they may manufacture much of Glock's machine tools as Glock builds all there own tooling.  Not real sure but I don't know of any pistols coming from there.

UID tags on M4's copied from Wikipedia.  Note the UID on the Navy M4, looks very different.  Maybe it's a ship specific tag?

Is 9346481 the correct part number for M9s? Google tells me it's for the "receiver with bushings", which I guess plausibly covers the whole shebang.

I recently picked up a weird old Beretta (Italian M9 slide on American 96 receiver) and really just want a UID sticker to cover the stupid "READ THE MANUAL!1!11!!" stamp on the right side of the dustcover.

I am building a new USAF GAU-5A Aircrew Self-defense Weapon (ASDW). These new carbines are taken from existing stocks of USAF M4 and modified for use in combat aircraft ejection seat survival kits.

So what would be the Part Number?

GAU-5A
CAGE: 13629
Part Number: ???????? (Thought J62700 as the military Part Number, but suspect I am wrong.)
Serial: WXXXXXXX

I greatly appreciate the assist.

The part number shouldn't change after the gun is converted into a GAU-5A ASDW, if the Air Force is following the rules:

"Once assigned to an item, the IUID is never changed even if the item is modified or re-engineered."

Meaning, if they converted an M4A1 into a GAU-5A, the UID label is going to have the M4A1's part number.

What's the ASDW configuration?  Inquiring minds and all that...

Anyway, the way AF armorers work historically, converted weapons retain the "as issued" serial number and NSN.  That can get "interesting" when the armorers try their best to make a GAU-5 out of what's stashed away in the parts bins...

The new USAF GAU-5A Aircrew Self-Defense Weapon (ASDW) is a conversion of a standard M4 Carbine featuring a 12.5" barrel, aluminum MLOK handguard rail, and a quick-detachable barrel system designed to fit within a very small survival kit compartment in an aircraft ejection seat.

That's awesome you have those links and info.  Do you know if there is a special length gas tube, or does the quick release kit cover that?

Also, do you know what sights that GAU-5 uses?

The Magpul MBUS Pro sights ARE the official sights, just with the LR sight for the rear. I just bought my LR rear sight this very morning off eBay for a total price with shipping $41.00 under retail.

The gas tube is a regular carbine length gas tube. This is due to the barrel being the standard carbine length for the gas block.

Most people doing Block 1 clones are using the long rectangle UID, I guess that would be the Army M4 one you refer to.

I just wanted to make a comment regarding Carolina laser works.  I recently placed an order for a tag and it was shipped very promptly. I waited a week and never received it so I emailed the company. A gentlemen emailed me back almost immediately apologizing for me not receiving it and advised he would send another one out  the next day free of charge.  As this was probably a fault with the post office I offered to pay for another one or at least cover the shipping charges and he refused to take any money.  This is great customer service that is very rare in today’s world.   So if you need a tag please don’t hesitate to order from these guys. Needless to say, I will be ordering another one for my other rifles.

*Finally* about to place an order for some of these for all the damn Palmetto lowers I bought over the past year.

Just want to confirm, have we standardized on the .75” square ones? I’ll be buying some for M4A1s, M16A2s, and M16A4s... yes, multiple lowers of each.  :-D. Though I may never build them all out...

Also, do these get installed slightly forward of center on the right side magwell?

Thanks!
