That looks super nice.

How hard was it to get the pins back in the FSB?

I wanting to get a 13" rail, and have it cut for an FSB at the mid-length location (cut similarly to the RIS II FSP). I would have it professionally cut, and installed.  Thoughts on this?

Ideally I would use a BCM MCMR, but I'm somewhat worried about rigidity. I'm also considering a Geissele MK8.
Can't speak for the BCM, but the G will be more than rigid enough.

If you leave the crossbolts out, you can use the holes in the lower portion of the rail to line up your taper pins.

Nothin' to it.

The biggest thing is access to how you are going to mount the FSB. Either holes or M-LOK slots that line up with the taper pins or screws on the sides or M-LOK slots that line up with set screws on the bottom. I don't know if the MCMR allows either.

I wouldn’t have a problem with some holes being drilled in order to access the pins if that’s what it would take.

The MK8 isn't quite as easy. You can probably find my post about it in this thread or this thread.

My son at Benning spec'ed this work gun from Nez R. in Austin.  Nez builds proven state and national champion barrels, to include for the President's Match champion.

It's a 16-inch mid-length, turned and chambered from a blank to dead-nuts true and hard-nitrided for longevity.  It's got an ARMS 41 folding front sight (the irons are strictly for back-up) and will be topped with a Sig 1-6x DM scope in Geissele mount.  He'll mount his AN/PEQ-15 in front of the front sight.  Potato photos:

I won't take credit for inspiring this, but I am extremely happy to see another A.R.M.S. folder hiding inside a free-float rail. Nice work, my friend. Was there any modification required to the FSB for fitment inside the SLR? I had to go full "Dremel-Fu" on mine to get it to fit in the CMR due to the tight inner diameter.

Here's my LMT with DD FSP rail put together by Denny from Denny's Guns.  Also have a Bushmaster 20" 1/7 upper with another DD rail and a Vltor folding FSP.

Does anyone have a pic of a Colt 11.5 upper with a RIS II FSP mounted?  Does the flash hider extend past the rail??  Thanks.

This.

A 12.5” barrel may not even be enough, the shoulder for the muzzle device would still be 0.125 under the rail.

Does anybody have experience with the extended Spartan rail from ARMS?
They work with mid length FSB or has a removable top section for carbine length FSB. ARMS hasn’t responded to two emails where I’ve asked for the weight. There isn’t a lot of info out there.

No experience with this one in particular, but in my general experience with their rails, they are fat and heavy. This one is listed as 16oz on their website. That's a full "one pounder." By contrast, the midlength C4 quad rail in my initial page one post is about a quarter pound lighter. If you look at the M-lok version, that one is 8.9oz, almost half the weight of the A.R.M.S.

Always remember, Ounces = Pounds... Pounds = Pain. Personally, I'd pass on that rail, but it's really up to you and your own personal requirements. If weight and overall beefiness is not a factor, then roll with it.

That 1 pound listed in the “Additional Information” section for the Spartan rail may not be accurate.

In the specs for some the S.I.R. rails, for example, the weight listed in the Additional Information section is much heavier than the listed weight in the description. The basic carbine SIR is said to be 8.6oz but the other section lists 1.1875 pounds and a length x width x height. Almost like it’s a shipping weight and dimensions.

ARMS phone lines appear to be down so I emailed them right after I made that post to get an accurate weight on that Spartan rail but haven’t heard back.
