Dear Valued Armalite Customer:

Notice of Potential Safety Issue and Recall
Notice for Armalite Models: AR-10, SPR MOD 1, SPR MOD 2, M15, and Eagle-15

We have determined that the disconnector and hammer on some of our AR-10, SPR MOD 1, SPR MOD 2, M-15, and Eagle-15 model rifles were not properly manufactured by third party vendors and that the disconnectors or hammers in those rifles can fail to ensure proper engagement of the hammer. This, in turn, can result in an unsafe condition in which the rifle doubles (discharging twice when the trigger is pressed one time).  A very small percentage of the rifles sold have been reported to have this condition. This is an important safety issue and we are therefore implementing a plan so that the affected rifles can be serviced and that the non-performing disconnectors and hammers can be replaced.

Fore more information on this recall and to determine if your rifle is affected, please visit Armalite.com/recall, call (866) 594-9103, or email [email protected].

Armalite Recall

We appreciate your understanding of this situation and will work diligently to get you shooting again!

Thank you,

The Armalite Team

I am sure you have a serial number and date range.  Why not post it?  I have an M15 and M15T, both are in the 10-15 year old range.  I WILL NOT ship either of them anywhere.

Sorry about that, we have a page on our website with a search function to find your serial number.

Would this apply to lower parts kits as well?
I haven't bought any recently enough to fall in that date range, but others may have.

The only lower parts kits that may apply would have single stage triggers and fall in the date range of 06/20/201616 – 07/25/2016.  For any further questions please contact [email protected].

This is why I function checked every rifle I ever sold someone.  Only a handful of times did I find a disconnector that didn't work, or a disconnector spring missing.

And none came from ArmaLite.

Thank you for posting that recall here.

Mine fell into the range but passed the "trigger test".

I had to enter the dash (-) on the SN# before it recognized the rifle, putting just the numbers after the model# and dash, results were it was not in range.

Why would you make the serial number search program case sensitive?

Possibly a dumb question...How do you determine date of manufacture? I bought two lower parts kits in January.

The markings on the both labels are 239400 and 103117.  The last number is most likely the date of manufacture.  Is this correct?

Everything I've ever gotten from Armalite has the date printed on the sticker like this photo in the lower left corner.
Maybe you could post up a picture or send one to me via pm or email if you can't.
