Remember that group was shot at 50 yards. It may not be an accurate representation of its capabilities. The further out you go, the clearer the picture becomes.

Agreed.  I also wasn’t doing a great job with timing my shots and trigger squeeze.  So I’m sure it’ll do better.

i know cloneness is paramount here, but has anyone thought of putting the vortex 1-10 FFP on their H?

Another great alternative optic for the Mod H. Like some previous posters have mentioned-  the super high height above bore w/the Recce Rail ain't so bad for us tall guys

Excuse the placeholder lower.  Here's the SMRS so far.  I'm liking this setup, it's comfortable, but need to get it out to the range and run it before final decision.

It's 1.535", Larue OBR LT111.  Without a rear sight installed I think it makes it look higher than it really is.

So far I really like it.  It's comfortable, don't have to dig my cheek into the stock or adjust to line up with the scope.  Just put my check to the stock and it's there.

I was worried about the height so I tried a LT120 out, which is 1.285" but I had problems with eyebox and had to bend my neck to get lined up.  The LT111 seems to be the perfect height.

So far I'm really digging it!  Gonna get out to the range this weekend and run it, but so far I think it's a great combo.

Edit: For height reference, here's with Arms 40 installed.

Glad it worked out for you. With the recce rail and LT 111 you're right about 1.93".

All it took me was trying 1.93" once and I was sold. That's all I do now.

Greatly appreciate the recommendation and feedback you all provided.  And with this one I'm still kosher which is a nice bonus haha.

Once my lower comes in I'll be a couple steps closer.  Until then Mega Gator FTW!

Nice. I measured my Recce rail at .47" above the upper. My scope is sitting in the 1.375" NF rings so not quite as high but still up there a bit. I also think I like it, feels great when standing, not sure how I'll feel when shooting from prone for extended lengths of time though. I feel like for the LPVO that height is great though.

Is the bushnell daylight bright btw? I've got a 3-9 on mine right now and that 8.5x on the top end give the bushnell nearly the same capability while also giving you the 1X. I must resist getting one, gotta be able to justify an offset dot of some sort by having a scope that doesn't have 1X.

Has anyone heard of any dealers getting an AEM5 in 2021?  Am just curious if they are in active production or if there's been some kind of halt.  I've had a backorder with DSG for about 4 months now.  Wish I would have jump on the one that popped up on GB a few weeks back.  Hindsight being 20/20 and all haha.

Good to know they're still producing.  DSG is one of their bigger dealers so am hopeful my backorder will eventually come through.  Thanks and good luck in your quest as well!

Finally got a chance to shoot some groups with the Bison barrel in my Mod H. Quite pleased with the results. Couple of these weren't zeroed, just looking for group size.

Aussie Outback 55gr Blitzking was on fire. 10 shot group just under 1MOA

Shot a couple groups with PVM 77gr SMK at 100yds that didn't seem so great, but I think it may have been my shooting deteriorating.

However we moved back to around 250 and I shot a 5rd group at around 2" with the 77gr, so it seems there is some hope. This was with a bit of a cross wind, I was aiming at the center target and only holding over for distance, not wind.

More to come as I develope some 75gr bthp hornady and 69gr nosler loads.

Does anyone have quick reference photos for the MK4 3.5-10 vs the Vari-X III? I’ve been watching for the right 3.5-10 and other than knowing it should be illuminated with M3 turrets, I’m unsure what the difference is for MK4 and vari x.

If anyone is thinking of going the SMRS with OBR setup there's a 34mm OBR in the EE for super cheap.  I already got one or I'd be all over it.  Note it's not my EE post, but has been discussion on this setup recently so figured I'd share.  Looks like a really really good deal.

To the question on whether the SMRS is daylight bright, I would have to say sorta not really.  Its definitely not Aimpoint or Steiner P4xi bright but it is brighter than say a PA 1-6.  At 1x because of reticle design forget it.  Illumination is only visible to me at 4x and up.

I'm fine with it and love the scope, most of my shooting is done at 100-350 yards anyway and don't use 1x much.  And for clone purposes it's CAF anyway.  But for others wondering, it's not what I'd call daylight bright.  Pics don't really reflect how it looks in person but here goes.

That brightness along with the pretty pathetic reticle is why I sold my SMRS not long after I bought one. Bushnell might be able to make a solid scope as far as glass and construction go, but their reticles and illumination often leave me wondering if they have any idea what the rest of the market is doing.
