Just recently got a mk14 handguard and I have to say, this thing is *nice*.

Mostly finished building the bottom one last night. Still need to get some backup irons for it then go get it sighted in.

Still not quite sure what to do with this 14.5" so rocking a 3x behind the EOtech for now...should I move the P4xi over to this guy?

Your zip tie is probably going to snap after a few hot range days.

I’ve been using zip ties like that for a couple years now on multiple rifles through quite a few hot range days and they hold up pretty well. I haven’t had to replace one yet.

Is that a Primary Arms Platinum Series on the right?
How do you like it compared to the Vortex?

Nice sticks - mind sharing what colors you used to get the camo pattern on the right? The rust color in particular...it looks great.

It is a platinum, the Razor still beats it in almost every aspect other than focal plane - even though I prefer SFP. The platinum is still a good optic, I would put it on the level with the Trijicon 1-8 or the Nightforce NX8 as far as glass quality and illumination goes.

Rattlecanned gun is my buddy’s Recce, he used these colors from Aervoe:
Sand
Light Coyote
Coyote
Earth Yellow

Part of the rust color is some editing, to get close to that color earth brown from Aervoe will get you there.

Anybody try out an mlok Magpul afg on a mk14 with a mid length gas yet? I tried the hand stops and where I need the front one it hits the block. And I’m not a fan of the bcm one and don’t want to spend $50 on a b5 again!

The B5 K short version is the best IMO, but if you're into minimalist stuff, the Arisaka one is nice. Small though.

I don't. I wish I'd have bought a MK14. I also think Geissele could de-horn their rails a bit better, but that's personal preference.

Well I've had this one built for about a week but just finally was able to take it to the range today. Been raining for almost a week straight now. Was still sprinkling when I hit the range today but had to do it.
URG-I take off 14.5" DD barrel with keyed, pinned and set screwed Geissele super gas block.
Geissele MK14 rail
Geissele G2S trigger
Geissele ACH
Geissele super 42 spring/buffer

So far, so good.  Very clear.  Only complaint is that I'd like the brightness adjustments in finer increments.
