So I have some of my parts to do my Noveske mini recce and I know I want a 12.5 crusader and I want to get a set of gen3 receivers during their Black Friday sale but i’m Torn between a 9in or the 11in mlok NSR. I plan on putting a surefire socom brake on it and want to know if the 11 inch would allow enough room for the suppressor.

think its .75" or more needed so 1.5" should be fine.

Thanks for the reply. I know a couple of people have 12.5’s in here and wanted to see what rail lengths they ran.

I know it's a pistol, but this is the same setup you're talking about with an 11" NSR.  Plenty of room with the Recce 5.

No accuracy testing to post yet. Come to think of it, I haven't even sent a round down this upper...or the 10.5" DDC upper. I'll post info as it comes, but with baby girl due in August, one 2 and one 3 year old little boy (dubbed "The Mississippi Wrecking Crew" by the ladies at the local YMCA), don't hold your breath.

11 for sure.  I hope to find an MLok to replace my Keymod on sale soon, so I can dump the Keymod NSR.  Let me know if you spot any deals!!

Sorry, we were talking about the NSR, I should have been more specific.
I am looking for MLok NSR rails to replace my Keymod NSRs, and G rails.  I was hoping to see them go on sale, and I am sure they will...2 days after I pay full price.
Thank you, though!

it makes a chunky gun chunkier and lopsided.

The DEVO is neat but the eye box limits it

Thinking about picking up a medium RAS and building another mini for the AEM5.  You guys said around a 13.07" barrel, but had to trim a little bit off the front of the handguard?  Think around a 13.1" barrel would work without trimming?  I would like a mid-length gas, but I don't know if the collar would fit with the gas block.

Mine is 13.07 and I didn't have to trim anything on the rail at all. It was perfect for mine.

Also me and 5pt56 are running carbine length gas so we don't have to fuck with a gas block that doubles as a collar.

Edit @5pt56 how are you liking the x32 on there?
I am strongly debating ditching the 1-6 razor for the x32.

The eye box isnt as great as the Razor but it's good enough. NF scopes are hard to beat IMO so I really love the x32 on here!

I almost pulled the trigger on a x24 this morning, but going to that from a Razor.... I'd probably quit shooting and sell all my shit

Upgraded from a Razor to a K16i and glad I did. Almost 10 oz lighter with the same huge eye box but better glass and clarity IMO. I still love my x24 but its definitely easier to get spoiled by other scopes lol.

I want more magnification.

I shoot better groups at 100yds with irons than I do with the razor at 6x.

NX8 will give you the extra 2X unless you go with a 2.5-10 vortex or something.

I think it's more the reticle than the magnification.  Although to get there finer reticle, I need to go up in mag

@cdholmes I only had to trim the rail to use the spikes tapered gas block on a mid length barrel. I’m not sure you’d be able to go mid length W/O the spikes GB and still have room for the AE collar. The collar would contact the gas block before the shoulder of the barrel. Or you could find a short collar and live with the slightly larger gap between the rail and can.

Yep. Go with 11”. I’ll try to post pics this week of my mini recce with a 12.5” crusader barrel.

I picked up a blem 11” mlok rail from Mas Defense a while back to replace my 10” BCM Quad rail. That BCM just to big and chunky.

Finished!

It’s got a PSA trigger group that I polished up real good. I think it took a pound or two off and made it buttery smooth. Trigger is a place holder until I decide which Larue trigger I want to put in it.

Finally had some time to get the 12.5 battle zeroed on steel with the Larue 1.93 mount.  Forgot my spotting scope at home so final zero on paper will have to wait.  Not sure if I like the wrap or not yet.  Using it as wire management for the dual switch temporarily.
