Makes me want to cerakote the N6 Coyote now.

Maybe I'll throw a Socom Mount on it and run the 762RC on it.

Does the AEM5-30 have the same reputation as the AEM5? I’m kicking about getting one for 6.8/6.5 & 223 duties

I would think so. Maybe a little louder on 5.56 due to bore size but then blowback would be less. I'm sure its great on 6.x and .30 cal. I kind of wish I had gotten a .30 cal version just to have some more options. I would like to do a bolt gun with my AEM5.

The AEM5-30 is about 2-3 inches longer than the AEM5.  But, if you contact Ron, he can make a AEM5 bored to .30 like he did for me and it will have the same dimensions.

Man, @RustedAce has been on the right track.  I've been doing this AR thing for awhile and this setup is the best I've ever used.  M300 on Arisaka Inline mount inbound.  That whole "chinweld" thing is overblown.  So is top end magnification when you compare it to TA11 glass quality.

I guess you could just simply say:

11.3 WC gap on a Medium RAS. This RAS was shaved .040 by Roth so the gap would be a tad tighter on a stock RAS

Finished (for the most part) my mini Recce. A ton of inspiration pulled from RTUtah's build- that thing has given me the feels since he posted it the first time.

A couple things that are going to change on this one...

-T1 on wilcox ring mount instead of the Docter
-WC bbl inbound (hopefully a matter of a couple days)
-Surefire RC2 when it is released from jail
-Pressure pad inbound for the m600

Stoked to shoot this thing soon.
Now I guess its time to dump some money into a 9mm can and one of those Stribog things.

I've decided my 14.5 isn't mini enough and bought another 10.3 bbl coz I'm an idiot

Any thoughts as to what glass I should put atop it? I'm not gonna be taking this past 200, 300 max. The majority of use will probably be at 1x...I was thinking an ACOG piggyback or an NX8 piggyback. I wish there was a 9.5 FF RAS but we'll figure that out later.

ETA or do I go totally galaxy brain and steal the Razor from my 14.5, then drop a 2.5-10 on the musket?

This is killer! Just a thought, maybe put the MRDS on there. The T1 really makes it cumbersome. The Docter on the MRDS sits pretty low. I had all three setups and the correct height reflex I thought felt and was the best.

N6 is getting re cerakoted. So stole a Surefire FH from a nearly shot out 6.5CM barrel I have and put the 762RC on. It's a little long for the Mini 300 but looks good.

Got a Larue Mount coming for the NX8 again so I can swap it between MR's.

I posted this in the Mk18 thread. I guess I never noticed there is a thread dedicated to exactly what I am thinking about doing.

I'm thinking of making the switch to a LPVO on my CQBR. I mostly shoot at AR500 steel from 100 yards to 350 yards. Also have access to property about 2 hours away with range out to 600 yards. I find most of my AR shooting to be 100-350 yards and on some small sized steel, generally around 10" and less. Anything closer than 100 yards and we keep the ammo to pistol calibers for safety and to not kill the steel. We don't shoot at cardboard and can't get much dynamic shooting as we really only have one long narrow lane for rifles that has a good backstop. We make it work by moving and shooting within that lane.

How have you been liking a 1-4 or 1-6 on your SBRs? You using a 1.5" high mount or working with the new taller 1.7" or 1.93" heights?

The Badger Condition 1 in 1.70" looks interesting, wondering how well that works between standing and the ability to still shoot prone comfortably.

I got in on the Trijicon Accupower deal for $400 for a Mil Quad 1-4 and have a NF Unimount 1.5" on the way to keep it as light as possible for now. Going to give it a shot on the 10.3". Worst case, I always have a 14.5" I never shoot that could use a decent optic.

My 11.5 criterion really, really, really fucking hates AE m193.
I was only blasting at 50yds to test an adjustable BCG.  I thought "damn, I've had way too much coffee".  I was printing 5" groups at 50yds.
I switched to Outback 69gr and put two 5 shot groups in the same hole.

@GeauxSouth86

If you are going to wait for a 9mm can you might as well wait for the new A3 model of Stribog. It is delayed blowback vs. the current model is direct blowback. A3 should be a much better suppressor host.

MrGunsnGear has it posted on his IG page too.

1.7 is the sweet spot that works for every position.  For optics with a tight eyebox like NF 2.5-10x24, 1.7" makes it hard if your muscle memory on scopes is in the 1.3-1.5" range.

Thanks for the feedback. I mounted a bipod to a rifle with a red dot at lower 1/3rd witness to see how I liked the cheek weld on that height in prone. It's not as good in prone as a 1.5", but it's honestly not bad. I wouldn't want to sit on it for hours, but it works for what I have in mind. 1.7" might be what I go with in the future when I get better glass.

Time to scroll through some pages on here for a bit, never did look in this thread. The setup you have posted at the top of this page is perfect, looks like an excellent all around rifle.

Funny enough, the NF unimount in 1.5" I bought is posted right up there by @Eyekahn
