I'm relatively certain ATF approved the Black Aces Tactical "firearm" with a folding mechanism, and to this day Black Aces Tactical is selling 26"+ "firearms" with a folding mechanism. So, either the Freedom Shoppe incident was related only to state law as suggested above - which seems a very odd thing for ATF to be involved in, and also not what the owner said (the weapons were seized for NFA violations AFAIK) - or ATF's enforcement is utterly inconsistent. As far as it can be determined, a braced pistol is measured with the brace extended unless it has a folding mechanism, in which case, it's measured folded. Unless you're Black Aces Tactical, lol. Generally speaking mil issued optics will not have the engraving, but will have a yellow laser warning sticker. Another difference is the Eotech brand logo on the side of the battery hood. Anyways, way more differences than I think people realize. I can post pictures tonight to highlight the differences. Now knowing what I know I wish i was a tad more picky in the selection process, but these do not come up for sale often so you kind of have to jump when you see one. |

Do hope a few people got in on the deal. Arms Unlimited will get more. Colt apparently does things in batches. It just took a really long time. |
