My Block I-ish Colt. From what I've researched it has a combo of parts that could have been seen in-theater. I'm sure someone will set me straight if I've strayed too far.

Parts:

Colt M4-marked lower/upper/14.5" bbl/Colt FA BCG/Colt H buffer and Damage Ind. Enhanced buffer spring/A2 FH
LaRue 7" rail
Aimpoint Comp M2
Knights 300m rear sight
Gas Buster Big Latch CH
Lone Star Ordnance A1 stowaway PG
Colt N1 stock w/rack marks
Colt old-style ("dogbone" w/cuts for two bbl sizes) side sling mount
Surefire M951
Knights VFG
GS2P sling
I fudged on the trigger. Geissele Rapid Fire

Great job Strela.  That's a nice one.   I don't think anybody ever uses the rubber cover for their AP though.

I bought the sight used with the cover on it. After checking to make sure the cover wasn't damaged I put it back on. Funny, I almost took it off for the photos.

There's nothing saying you can't do it, but your mount is backwards in comparison to how it's usually mounted.

When I saw that, it seemed to me it was done intentionally to get the big ass knob out of a right handed shooters way.

I like having the knob on the right side with the FA and light and the sling side somewhat slick. Personal preference.

At least I'm not Bruce Willis.

The funny thing is I had a QRP mount right in front of me and it still took me a min to figure out why your Aimpoint looked so peculiar.

To be fair, that big ass knob is annoying as fuck on the left hand side. Fucker hangs up on EVERYTHING

Thus my breaking with the norm as far as the mount goes. I found it annoying too, but a couple of minutes with a screwdriver solved the problem.

I have a Larue LT150 mount but I didn't want to go overboard on the LT stuff for this one so I chose the factory QRP. The LT150 is going on another project.

So I have something like this in mind.

What block would this fall under? It doesn't have an optic, but does have an updated crane SOPmod stock. Also I'm actually doing this on a budget with older parts so I'm pretty excited. I feel bad I don't have the exact RAS but nobody will know once the rail covers are on.

I may buy a Primary Arms 30mm and throw it in a spare QRP2 Mount from my Aimpoint Pro

Will post real pics once things are shipped/put together.

Love the way your clones look and the effort put into them

Absolutely, just like you.

In fact, bought another Colt M4. The one above is now marked M4A1 (rare!) the receiver below is M4 Carbine. Barrel is SOCOM. All Colt, 100%

Both barrels have been treated by Specialized Armament Warehouse - 14.5 length plus pinned and welded the way Ken does them, plus reliability treatment.

In short, these are for life.

I'm missing a few things like:
KAC Rail (Using UTG Pro, got it for $40)
KAC Handguards (Using Promag Covers, $15)
KAC VFG (Using Daniel Defense VFG)
Also it's a 16" Barrel

I hope not having KAC isn't blasphemy

I was definitely inspired by the carbines in this thread. I love the Block 1/1.5 Look. My goal was to build this one on a budget.

I really like the way the waffle stocks look, but it seems like the carbine balances better with a SOPMOD, since the quad rail/FSB is a bit front heavy.

Thanks bro.
I am not sure how that one happened - I think it's an original? I bought this receiver (marked M4A1) stripped of everything - just that sticker. Not sure if Colt original or whatever.

It's certainly a good looking feature,

Long time lurker, here is my submission.

Colt 6920 SOCOM with a 14.5" Colt SOCOM barrel and pinned A2X
TA01NSN
M952V
DBAL I2 soon to be replaced with an ATPIAL

Shameless plug but I just listed my other M4A1 marked lower in the EE if anyone is looking for one.

Also, what are clone correct MRDS and mounts for the TA01NSN? Please don't just say "Docter" or "JPoint" as I find that a lot but no mention of generation, dot size, color, etc.

I had a 7 or maybe 8 MOA Jpoint in 2003.

Couldn't find a mount at the time, so I had one custom made by a guy on Arfcom.

I found that 13yr old ACOG for $400 at a flea market in VA.

Guy said the tritium was dead and would cost $500 to replace.

I took it home and could still see the tritium, it was a little dim but not bad. The tritium in the TA01NSns sucked anyway.

I got the BUIS and the KAC RAS for $70 as well The upper is a old delton I got for $300, and the lower is a ARFCOM lower.

I have just a bit over $1000 in the whole rifle

Thanks

He had a whole pile of them for $50 and the BUIS were $30

both were a little banged up, but couldn't ask for a better price.

He wanted $500 for the ACOG but my buddy pulled out $400 and got it for me.

I actually think people tho  it was fake or stolen for the price.

It still had the Bible verse on it as well.

I sent a email to Trijicon who would gladly refurb it for $571

Yea that is the reason a 5-8 yr old $1200 ACOG goes for $650-800 in the EE.

The tritium has a shelf life and people want to unload their 6-10yr old ACOG.

I bought a ACOG in the EE just like the one in the pic for $650 in 2002.

Its the one on the M4 in the afghan pic.

honestly, with how the tritium functions in a TA01NSN, I have zero problems with dead tritium. I think it mattered like one time shooting around dusk into a dark area on a berm. Not worth the cost of the refurb from trijicon, but you have a bomb proof 4x optic. Nice purchase man. I would buy that 10/10 times.

Edit No. 2- Not sure if this rifle is correct or not for this thread... not a block one, I think the peq is the wrong model and the acog is not mil issue....

Edit - rifle is a bcm socom 14.5" upper, SBR lower, kac nt4 mount, atpial-c, acog ecos with rmr and surefire 952v.
