One question, did you have to modify the crap out of your tango down vfg in order for it to work? I couldn't even get it started. The dovetails didn't even line up. Weird.

Very nice job and yes on the TD VFG.  Pain in the fourth point of performance.  RediMag to me throws the balance off.  Tried them when we first got them.

Reference the SOCOM barrel they started getting introduced around 00' IIRC on SOCOM's M4A1s.  Block IIs came out sometime between 08-14'  IIRC.

Prob so lol. After going through every rendition of the SOPMOD clones heavy is something im familiar with and don't mind. But balance is what I've found to be everything. Throw a PEQ-2 on the side rail of that thing and you may be doing a forward cartwheel when you go to bring the muzzle up.

Exactly why I keep going back to a block I with the 14.5”. I’ve tried both iterations of Block IIs and i feel like they’re too nose heavy for me.

I should weigh it. Doesn't feel sinificantly different when shouldered, but I'm sure lugging it around would be a pain. The lower half being a flexible polymer helps save some weight. But once it's mounted it's surprisingly rigid.

ETA- damn, weighed it up and got 10.1lbs. I plan to remove the Redi mag. Unnecessary weight plus now I can barely pivot the upper open. I put the 552 on the upper rail to see how It balanced and to take advantage of the built in riser. It doesn't cowitness with the sights. A tad too high.
Fun with block 1

I'm thinkin that PR 1.5 with the Arredondo and the tri rail would be a good direction for the new spare parts build I've got brewin. What brand tri rail do you think they run? I know I've seen a few different brands out there.

Those are the YHM rails. Long discontinued and very hard to come by. Unless you get lucky.

Even better brother! I remember a while back readin about the BCM bein a spec replica of the one used on the c7. So I wasn't sure if this one was the "one". Know i now.

Eta- I can definitely say I've been lucky this month when it comes to good clone finds.

Anyone ever see an Elcan SU-230B (1.5-6x, 5.56) on an M4 or any other non-scar rifle? I've got one of these scopes and would like to use it on an AR variant if it's clone correct.

And yet another tri rail

The afg with the insight switch forward feels very natural. Just a mock up. Barrel has to be torqued down and gas tube installed.

The tri rail even came pre-painted! Didnt even have to pay extra

Diff light. I had the RM45L on the Black M620. I still have an RM45L on a 952V on another gun.

And yiss.. Looking to grab two at once this week so I don't have to split time between this rfile and the GCQBR, and I don't have to suffer through two waiting periods.

ETA- I snagged a VTAC Delta after seeing the pics I posted above, because I like the weird small batch PR builds. But after holding it and mocking it up, I am not sure I like it lol.

Could sell the Delta off and get a FSP RIS II (I would say that gun is by technicality a block II anyways with that rail) but that's semantics.

Now you know my memory banks are pretty shot. I don't know what your GCQBR is but I am extremely intrigued and need to see pics of it

That's a good call on the 2 at once by the way, that wait time is brutal

Oh you haven't seen it? It's not really anything special, just a shorty with a G rail that I have started referring to as my GCQBR.

ADCO has a spacer that extends a standard A2 birdcage (or in this case preferably an NT4 flash hider) to 16.1" when pinned and welded. (This is for a 14.5" barrel BTW), with a 14.7 you won't need a spacer, just the pin/weld.

Other than that your options are pin/weld and SF3P/SF4P, or pin/weld an A2X
