use the image icon in the posting reply toolbar, the one that looks like a photo of mountains (the 2 Tetons) with the sun. insert the picture url in the space between the img code bracket thingies.  from imgur, use "direct link".

Hello, I apologize in advanced, if this question has already been covered?  Will a pinned KAC M4QD Flash Hider provide the required legal length, on a 14.5" barrel, or is a spacer needed?

Thank you

Posting these I realized I have a pinned 16” problem.

Is the one on the bottom 14.5 or 14.7"? Also where did you get that barrel?  Its hard to find carbine length pencil barrels, Green Mountain is the only one I know of that sells an exact retro pencil 14.5.

It is 14.7”.  It was a 16” delton lightweight barrel before it was cut/pinned.  Not a true pencil (government under handguards) but it shoots well and is pretty light weight.  It wasn’t to bad on price either.  I want to say around $150 with the chrome lining on sale when I got it.

Nice. I should have something for this thread worked on by John in the very near future.

Don't remember if I've posted these in here yet.

Top is an old 14.7 CMMG pinned to 16 from the factory.  It was my first AR.

Bottom was a 16 inch 6920 upper that Dave Laubert cut to 14.5 inches.  I had him pin on an AAC 51t flash hinder in order to bring it back up over 16.

My OG LMT 16 inch carbine gas govt profile with plastic handguards and FSB i bought in 2008.

It was reprofiled to lightweight and cut / pinned to 14.7 by adco many years ago.

Later I cut the FSB down, and I rattle canned it about 6 years ago.

It hasn't got much attention in a while but I just threw a 1-5 on it and installed a BRT restricted gas tube in which cut the gas down a lot.

It will be getting shot a lot more now.

Hard to believe I've had this for almost 10 years now. Still an outstanding shooter that has gone through a few changes.

Recently added the BCM PKMR for a narrow, light weight, inexpensive semi-modern hand guard but other than that, not much has change.

Not quite a 14.5" barrel but I hope is "close enough" to be allowed in this thread. If not, I will delete it.

The lower AR in the photo is a 14" BRT Mid-length barrel with a pinned & welded Warcomp. John Thomas (Retro Arms Works) did a beautiful job on the Warcomp. Clocking is perfect for a leftie like me.  Length is safely legal and the Socom-RC2 had the desired clearance to the 13.5" Geissele handguard. John's welding is above first class. On top of fantastic work he shipped the barrel back the same day he received it.

Just for reference, the upper AR in the photos is a 10.5" barrel with a 9.5" Geissele.
