I really like it.  I started with the Mega wedgelock rails but moved on to these.   The only thing I liked better about the Mega was the titanium barrel nut for just a bit of weight savings.  I couldn;t feel the difference side by side though

i was trying to clone the movie gun and not a 733 in general.  i actually have a colt peel washer in the parts box to put on there , just haven't gotten around to it yet  i could never get a good enough pic of the commando's in HEAT to show the selector , makes sense that by that time period it would have had a tic marked selector.  you wouldn't have a pic showing the selector would you ?  that will be easy enough to change out with a colt tic marked selector.  the lower is a 6920 lower that i refinished and distressed a bit to match the upper so no 3rd pin hole and auto sear , but i do drop a binary trigger in it every now and then

Tic Selector, notched and staked 2 hole extension nut

Apparently for the movie they took the OG A2 off, and spun an A1 flash hider on without any nut at all. Peel washer wouln't be movie correct either. Learn something new every day.

Several threads lately have reignited my 733 bug.  I had to watch Heat again this weekend because of you posts.

Still not sure of the path and configuration I want to pursue though.

man you've got some good eye's.  i've seen that pic but never noticed the selector , it does look like a tic marked one

i do have a colt 2 position tube with the 2 hole lock nut and end plate.  i sourced out all colt parts for this clone , except the binary trigger when it's in there

mine started out as a .jpeg

733's are great little carbines.  i have a colt a2 upper that will probably turn into a bhd 733 clone of capt. steele's commando.  that or a colt m727 clone , still not sure yet

i remember that build thread

i think the 12.5" barrel is the sweet spot for barrel length in a 5.56 gun.  i have a colt 6720 barrel that i had cut down to 13" for an idf clone and it's still short and handy and doesn't give up much in velocity compared to a 14.5" or 16" barrel.

This one is about 90% done now. Need a set of KAC micro sights, a light and a sling, then I need to get off my ass and e-file it so I can put the SOPMOD stock on. One day it'll be wearing a corncob NT4 can. One day.

Shitty cell phone pic for now. Built up a new lower this afternoon. I have to give @TheManimal credit for inspiring this. As soon as I can function test the lower I'll be submitting a form 1 and putting a CAR stock on it.

My first AR pistol (technically “firearm”)

It’s kind of a quasi FBI clone.
Poverty pony lower, MBT, Stag LPK, Spikes ST-T2 buffer, SBA3

Aero upper, Toolcraft BCG, BA 11.5” Gov’t profile barrel and GB, Geissele Mk8 DDC 9.5” handguard, Raptor CH, A2 FH, Arms 71 BUIS, Surefire G2 in Arisaka mount with PA Tapeswitch, AP PRO

And based on my tape measure, it’s 26 1/4” long to the end of the muzzle threads with the brace collapsed.

I am flattered! Thank you! I should probably mention that my build was inspired by John Noveske's (RIP) 300 blackout; I just wanted a similar rifle chambered in 5.56. Wish he was still alive and kicking. The stuff he made was awesome. About the only thing interesting coming from Noveske ATM is the Space Invader in 10mm...IMO.

Yeah, I am going to be bummed when my Crusader, and Infidel are shot-out

They are the sweetest barrels, perfectly gassed, no need for adjustable gas, and more accurate than I will ever be.  I don't hear that very often about their products, anymore.  I do need to pick up 2 NSR MLok rails to replace the Keymods.  Hope to see a sale at Rainier, soon.

I wanted an infidel and crusader back in the day something fierce.

Now that noveske has turned into a hipster lifestyle brand I have 0 interest in them.
