Need more info than what you've provided, i.e., round count, condition of parts, brand of lower, etc. Ask him the reason for wanting to sell.

about 500 bucks sounds right.. maybe 600... if its great condition.. 700 max.

observe... even though this doesnt have a colt barrel and its in the white.. its new.

Colt kit

condition would help.

It's not a Colt if it doesn't have the Colt lower.

This is correct.

Parts gun =/= Colt

I have a factory complete used Colt A2 lightweight carbine and I'd be surprised to get $800 out of it in this market.

Complete parts rifles will get you $500-$600, $350 trade-in at a dealer.

Just part the thing out, you'll get more money.

What is its configuration? (20" fixed stock, 16" collapsible stock, etc.)

this...what would be the point otherwise. btw...you might want to change your title since it's not accurate.

You can put togather an A1 or A2 at a gun show, with a mil surp Colt and FN M16 uppers, for $600, easy enough. If he really wants to sell it, offer $500. $700 would be for near mint.
