Man up and make your own decision. Only you know what you want. If money isnt a issue then get both.

i could do that but dang that would take a while. me an my wife have a budget system an 2 ars would take months to put together an plus i got one in 5.56 that just aint wut i thought it was gonna be. maybe i just like building guns....

Personally I would need to have a full stable of 5.56's before I would buy a 9mm AR...that said I am not a big 9mm fan in anything.

Since you are just looking for arguments for one or the other, I'll say that I'd go for 5.56 if tack driving accuracy is at all a concern. If not, I'd consider 9mm because it would be really cheap to shoot. I reload.

this will be a fun gun. it dont have to shoot one hole at 150 but i would like to be able to keep a softball size group at that range?

With an SBR'd lower, you can have both. Build as you can afford it, but get that paperwork in now.
Link Posted: 9/7/2010 10:38:05 AM EDT
so i prolly should save up and sbr the lower

then get the can

then the 9mm upper.....

an just keep wut i have already..... then if i decide to i could always build another lower for my 16 inch 5.56

Why isn't the 5.56 "what you thought it was gonna be"?

i guess it just aint as fun as i thought. i aint into mag dumps an stupid shit. i just like to shoot but more so than that build guns. dont get me wrong i like to shoot my 5.56 an therefore i will prolly keep it an build a 9mm

You will probably like the 9MM's lack of muzzle blast and noise, compared to the .223.
Link Posted: 9/7/2010 12:52:10 PM EDT
But recoil might be a little more because of the heavy 9mm bolt.
Link Posted: 9/7/2010 1:33:47 PM EDT
yeah i figure a little less blast but a little more recoil.

thanks for the help. i guess after a few days of ponderin i will keep 5.56 an build 9mm. take me prolly a year instead od 6 months but in the end it will be worth it. especially wen the hig hrollin turds aka politicians pass there bullshit laws in years to come.

The 9mm is cheaper to shoot and I have two of them and they are VERY DIRTY as they use the blow back system. I have a Timmney trigger in one with a Adco ramped bolt and it works 100% but after 500 rounds my trigger system is no longer gold it's black with spent powder so it's time for the birchwood casey gun scrub clean out. If you think the DI 223/556 get dirty the 9mm is the dirtest of them all(but they are fun to shoot and mine holds some good groups out to 75 yards).

Just get a LMT MRP and you can have both.

Spike's Tactical makes 9mm MRP barrels.

Switching calibers is easy and only takes a couple minutes.

You said money is not an issue?

get a 5.56 first.

i mean money isnt an issue bucause i will buy an build as i can. i already have 5.56 just thinkn on tradin it for 9mm but will prolly keep an just buy a 9mm later on.

Suppressed 9mm is more fun than .223 (in quiet or loud variations).

I'd do the 9mm first. And eventually get both.

(and yes - only 1 SBR lower, so the pistol is just somewhere for the "other" upper to live. They tend to swap back and forth and mostly just get shot on the shoulder-stocked lower)
