Gen 1 Noveske uppers and lowers were manufactured by CMT/Stag. I bought a stripped lower from the original run and shortly after acquired a stripped upper.

It depends on which generation of gen 1 lower you have, the newer ones have the anodizing and cerakote over them

Noveske is complicated

If i recall from pictures, your Gen 1 Noveske lower is roll marked. Those are the pre-Johnny's passing gen 1 lowers.

You are correct and the lowers were only available stripped and you had to have previously purchased a complete upper. The initial run was 100 units and my serial number is in the 70s.

While on topic, who's the OEM for their small parts/receiver extensions/buffers? I thought it was also Stag but am unsure if it's changed in recent years.

This is a minor nit pick, or just observation, but I thought the funneling of the magwell would be more generous.  It's rather conservative compared to how the profile of the lower makes it seem.

HRF Concepts RCM equipped HDSI forged lower, Noveske Gen 3, Radian AX556 lower.

Edit:
One thing I did notice is these current Gen 3 sets do not come with the cross marked forward assist.

My receiver set did come with a Noveske marked forward assist.

I've got an early Noveske lower with the S/N starting with a B002xx. It's not one of his first runs I don't think but it's low. It was built into an SBR. No idea which forge was making Noveske lowers back then.

If anyone needs a charging handle Optics Planet has the noveske marked ACH's back in stock. Look in the optics planet thread in GD for a 10% off coupon.

Waiting on a few parts, like proper optic mount(s), which will be here this week, and I have the dust cover(s) off being lasered. Eventually i'll snag an NGAL for this build, but for now, an LA-5 will do.

Pretty happy with the build so far, I'm digging how light it compared to my MCX's.

Big thanks to @jb/@tinycrumb for the help on this build.

I agree. Not that i'm aware of.

I've got the Fortis coming tomorrow, and a LaRue LT660 the day after. Probably will use the LT660 and just keep the Fortis boxed away since i'm not big on how the Fortis looks haha.

I'm going to run a Scalarworks and when one shows up in theatre, I'm going to claim that DEVGRU is cloning my build. After that, I'll just start sending Crane my awesome ideas.

I picked up a FDE K2 but I run BCM Gunfighter Mod 3s so I picked one of those as well. Going to get the BCM grip Cerakoted at the same time as my upper/lower/hand guard. I'll decide which one I'm going to run once I get all the parts back.

Just backorder the original VLTOR non noveske marked version. Mine ships on the 6th. If the noveske logo is that important to you just have it engraved, it's the same upper. I got $15 off so I ended up paying 160ish. Or get scalped for 4-$500 for a Noveske version.

I could be wrong but I believe the Noveske version differs in that it has the hole for the anti-rotation pin for the NSR handguards
