Always nice to see a fellow Johnny clone owner and one that is a perfect re-creation at that. I've looked for an opportunity to buy the mount for years after they dried up with no luck. I won't ever get the S&B though so it doesn't really matter.

How do you keep your SDN-6 so fresh looking? Mine gets a new scratch or chip in the finish with every outing. Maybe I just got one with a crappy paint job.

ETA: Pic Thread. (crappy i potato pic)

Thanks! I did the best I could. I'd say it's almost-perfect. I did use a chainsaw lower so I probably get docked some points for that. It's cerakoted vs, gunkote. And I'm still guessing I'll never be able to track down an original 4-slot rail section. Have searched high and low for that damn thing. Harder to find than most mil-clone parts.

My latch tooth on my SDN-6 wore down last year to where I could turn the can on/off without depressing the latch. I sent it back in to AAC to get fixed and it came back with a fresh coating. It looks like they're using Cerakote now instead of whatever they used before because it seems a bit lighter in color and way more durable. I didn't ask them to do it but glad they did because I had bunch of sections burned off and a bunch of melted nylon all over it before.

You have to paint it yourself or send it off to someone to do it.

Noveske is cool. Ask them to cerakote one for you and I bet they will. They did for me in 2014.

I'm getting the itch to build something again...  Strictly speaking for comfort of shooting, how is the cheekweld on something like the Ghetto Blaster?

I'm compairing it against something like BattleArms's Vert Stock.

Anyone with experience with either, I'd love to hear your thoughts. (going to be a Noveske gun or build, just not sure which route yet)

I run the MVB Industries on this 556 build and on a 9mm pcc sbr build.  Its not a Sopmod, but its definately not uncomfortable due to the rounded edges of the buffer tube and the stock rails.  As  reference I also have the LMT PDW Kit.  Its more comfortable, but not by as much as you would expect.  But, Im not laying down behind it shooting for groups, or running weekend classes with it.  They have their uses and tradeoffs...  I mostly wanted short stock systems that don't need a proprietary BCG.

Both are shorter than the LWRCI Ultra compact set-up, But are significantly more expensive.

This is before I had the MVB but its extremely close the the LMT PDW in LOP and compactness.  Have a regular Sopmod for comparo purposes...

Hope it helps your decision.

The build consist of a full infidel upper with sws quad rail. As for the lower, it’s a gen III lower with an elftmann flat trigger, with a pws buffer tube with ratchet nut end plate. Also for the buffer it’s a giesslle super 42 and for the stock is a b5 enhanced sopmod. Sights are noveske stamp Troy buis.

@Jlgil73 Just when I thought I was done building AR15s, you gotta go and post that LMT hotness. Now I'm asking myself, M9A3? or LMT mlok upper?

Absolutely beautiful builds! I have an LMT Defender with the cheaper single stage trigger and it's perfection. The trigger is surprisingly good!

Noveske thread

@TheManimal you should have been complementing @jtdam24 That's his LMT hawtness...  I Agree that that is some sexy $h!t.  IMO, sweeter than the Geissele setup.  I was on LMTs website last night after seeing that drooling...

Well, the rifle you love just got a new friend.

I initially bought the EOTech for the SCAR, but with how light my AR is with the EOTech on it, I had to keep it this way. They both weigh about the same, but I'm more comfortable with the HWS on the AR (mainly because I used to have one on there). It's so much more pointable and controllable, even with the heavy Noveske Afghan barrel. The SCAR will rock the Razor until I can justify/afford a K16i. Right now I just can't do either, but I'm not complaining. I am a happy boy with some fancy toys.

@TBone556 Yeah, decided I wanted to run my Mk6 on it.  When I first got the Mk6, I thought Id run it on my SCAR 17, but I decided I loved the Acog 3.5 on there since I am going to SBR it.  Ended up selling the Accupoint.  It was a great optic, just needed to get some cash inbound for other projects instead of sitting in my safe waiting for a rifle, I already have more glass waiting too...  Accuracy is awesome.  If I do my part, it will make a ragged hole.

Almost done gathering parts for my Infidel build.  Got this in today.  As soon as I disassemble the receiver sets, they are going off to cerekote (this week).  Going Bazooka.

So far this, and the Novekse QD end plate are the only the only parts (I already had the receiver set on a rifle pictured previously in this thread) I haven't got off EE.
