I want to build an IDF clone- 16" pencil barrel, bayonet lug FSB, CAR handguards, A1 upper (preferably no forward assist), early-style CAR stock. This a bit outside my wheelhouse, so where are the best sources for these parts?

View Quote If you want it right now, I’d do the Fulton upper as suggested, For the handguard, get one of these and chuck the rail https://www.cdnnsports.com/ar15-handguard-tri-rail-mount-black-polymer.html#.XEfb1RpMGhA M&A has the older, polymer CAR stock https://www.mapartsinc.com/shop/details.asp?id=1592&iCat=21&iSubOne=397&iSubTwo=408 As for barrels, my last was a Bushmaster Super Light but I don’t see that one on the website now. Just be looking for a carbine length gas system with a .625 barrel. I haven’t looked at sourcing a pencil barrel lately so I can’t help you there. Maybe Green Mountain? As noted, I’d be trolling the Retro section and the EE. ETA: my suggestions are based on you wanting it now. Otherwise, just be patient and watch the EE like a hawk. |
