Soon to be a Recce.
Still looking at what kind of backup red dot I want to use. I'm tempted to use an RMR, but I also have a Primary Arms reddot that I'm not doing anything with, which is tempting to use. 45 offsets. The irons will be coming off now that the upper is built and tested. Also trying to decide on a bi-pod setup. I really hate how large and blocky the pic rail versions are, but besides a Magpul I don't really know what exactly what to look at. Optic is a ACSS Primary arms. Attached File |

I finally got to zero the optic, and I have to say I'm impressed. I was somewhat skeptical about it at first, however the ACCS reticle was surprisingly easy to get used to. Zeroed at 100.
It took about 2 mags to get it dialed in where I wanted, but again that was also a breeze. Not to shill to much for Primary Arms, but frankly I love the optic. The price wasn't bad, and I really love the way they designed the reticle to be so easy to use. Has anyone mounted a small RMR at a 45 degree offset at the very back right side? With the Aero SPR mount its all of the rail space I have left, and I think this should fit in the pic slot I have remaining at the very back but I'm not 100% sure. And after I got it zeroed I had to wrap things up and did a mag, firing 1 second apart. Pretty happy overall with this build. |

Alternatively you could mount it to the top of the scope.
I have the mount but need to buy another red dot Attached File |

I may look at getting the Vortex specific offset since I do like their RMR. I was wondering, what rail is that? I like the profile a lot. |

For me, offset made more sense because I did not have to lift my head and break cheek weld. Scope ring mount is lighter and may work better for those who shoot more heads up. |

So here’s my recently built up RECCE. It’s a little heavy at 10.2 pounds as pictured, but that’s not too terrible considering it’s got a can, light, scope and the SOPMOD and pistol grip is stuffed full of 8x CR123 batteries. (Thermal slays batteries #TheStruggleIsReal).
All it needs now is an offset RMR once I find a suitable mount in the EE for my RMR. It’ll probably be 10.5 pounds with the offset RMR.
