Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Factory Bushmaster fluted bbls?

Helping a friend with a buddy's estate sale and one AR is a Bushmaster 20in A2 but with flutes under the HG's and in front of a standard FSB. It looked to be a post ban gun with a muzzle brake that I'm not familiar with. Is or was this a standard offering from BM?

Bushmaster offers flutting as an option on most of their barrels.

if memory serves me correctly they charge $50 to flute barrels.

Thanks gentlemen, I was able to dig up an old BM catalog and indeed the fluting was a $50.00 option.
