I purchased a A1 grip from a board member and upon receiving I noticed how slappy it was and also the bottom I guess "hole" isnt exactly a hole (you cant see through it). Are genuine A1 grips suppose to have such horrible molding marks on it and have no holes on the bottom? The grip doesnt fit like my A2 grip either.. has a slight gap between it and the lower receiver.

A couple of my A1 grips are pretty ugly, but don't know how common it is.

Here are the pics, I am not a pro at this so please excuse the fuzzyness.

Actually looks worse in person than in those pics.. as you can see there is no "hole" on the bottom of the grip (the flash makes it look like there is but there isnt).. is this just a cheapo copy or are they like that?

Looks real deal to me.  Can't imagine anyone making a knock off considering they were made in the millions.

My bet is the gap is due to the hole not being drilled in the receiver in the correct spot.

So it is normal to have all these molding lumps and for the hole on the bottom to be actually not a real hole (As in you cant see through it..I really dont know.. first A1 grip I have).

Doesn’t look much different than my A1 grip. The hole in the bottom is not supposed to go all the way through.

IIRC there are two variations of the A1 grip. One is thicker then the other.

I think I have four or five now. They all look good to me. And the ones shown here look pretty normal too.

Looks good to me too

just picked up 2 from fulton armory. took them out of the box, sprayed some CLP on them and they look great. molding was a little sharp around the grip opening at the bottom.

Your A1 grip is fine.  A1 grips are my favorite.

Dont see the need for sarcasm.. I just asked if it was normal since I have never handled an A1 grip. I wanted to make sure I payed for what I was getting and I also stated that I dont care and just want to shoot the damn thing.

There’s always the option of modifying an A2 grip by cutting off the finger groove like I did here.

OK!  Calm down, Cleatus.  I was just giving you a little ration.  No need for the Road Rage incident!

If it's not fitting onto the lower all the way it might have been molded a little too tight where it fits onto the mounting boss.

I had an A2 do that and I had to file the grip until it fit right.   I just used a flat file and filed the inside that slides around the mounting boss of the lower.
