Brake or Flash hider?

I prefer a crowned barrel over any type of brake on an AR15.

Well I guess either/or ... my barrel I just purchased already has threads on them so I figured I would just slap a brake/flash device on it.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to get a QC but thought I better check out everything first. How is it on the noise level?

PS is does look neat, but $132 is not worth looks alone! Ecpecially if it deafens the shooter!

hmmmm, maybe I'll try one out if I can find a used .308 one (yeah right!)
Thanks!

Denny pretty much covered it.

I vote (with my wallet) for the Phantom 5C2, works great, is reasonably priced, is closed enough not to catch on things, closed on the bottom to keep down dust when shooting prone.

I personally detest brakes, why would I want to make a rifle (or pistol for that matter) louder?

JP Enterprises Bennie Cooley Compensator for my Limited/Tactical division and teaching rifles.

JP Enterprises Recoil Eliminator on my larger caliber rifles and on one full house Open division rifles.

The Clark Custom Miculek/DPMS Comp is very, very effective too.

BTW, having just come off of another live fire FTX, I'll say this...flash hiders don't hide shit.

I'm not Stick, but it's the one on the extreme left in the pic at the top of the thread.

It's not in the picture but I think that the plain A2 Birdcage looks the best on an AR/M16.

think stick meant one without the ridges on the end not on the body of the fh.

my vote goes for either phantom 5c1 or vortex for fh and mstn for brake.
