I am trying to decide wich one to use to refinish my AR...HELP...Will be going on a plinker..most durable? Am thinking about going with a flat black or Charcoal Grey.

Seems more people like Norells. Dura Coat does not need any heat to cure where as Moly Resin (Norrels) does. Both will suit your purpose as both are pretty durable.

I refinished a lower with norell's and it turned out very professional looking. As long as you keep the piece nice and warm, it instantly dries on contact so you don't get any run marks. Never used Duracoat but I would if the piece I was painting was too big to fit into an oven (like an AK).

I've used both and it's only Norell's for me from now on. Better finish and easier to use.

I use Norrels, here is a post about Norrels.

Again I will post my best refinish with norrels because I love showing it.

The small nicks were my screw ups while the moly resin was wet.

Had two lowers and uppers DuraCoated. I'm sending them to US Anodizing to have the DuraCoat removed and have the receivers Type III hard-anodized.

I recommend Norrell's.

Norrell's is hard to beat.

Here's a question for the experts....

With Norrell's, can I spray a barrel or upper receiver, let it dry, then bake it in the oven just lying on the oven racks.....or do I need to suspend it somehow in the oven so it doesn't contact anything?

Thanks.

I suspend everything from the top oven rack with pieces of coat hanger that I cut and bend as needed.
