Mine doesn't and I've never seen a factory 9mm upper with one, FWIW.

The Colt 9mm SMG A1 uppers that I've had did not have a gas tube hole.

hmm...I wonder if he has one of the early ones. IIRC Colt was using 5.56 A1 uppers for their first 9mm SMG..anyways Thanks for the help
