Well for starters, the upper must have a government profile carbine barrel and gas system. No HBARs. Pretty much all uppers available commercially should work. Colt, LMT, Bravo Co., RRA, Bushmasters, etc.

Bushy 11.5" hbar upper works fine.

I stand corrected. I thought the RIS can go either way and the RAS was for gov't profile.

well..unless my RAS is a RIS..at least it works good on my 11.5" bushy.

I'm not sure where that RAS/RIS fit business comes from 'cause I've had an RAS on the following...

The RAS will fit all but the thickest barrels. Don't know the measurement off hand. I think the RAS is far superior to the RIS with the lock-up of the top piece which the RIS doesn't have. JMHO

CMMG M4A1 SOCOM barrel uppers are good to go as well. Just got my KAC M4 RAS installed no problems, although I did scuff the slipring a bit on one side.

my ras fits my 6721 hbar upper no prob. i asked this question last week. search for it and there is a pic of one mounted on a hbar.

I have two Bushmaster 14.5" M4 barrels. My RAS doesn't seem to want to go on either one.. What am I missing here?

Make sure the rear link is hanging and goes under the barrel nut before pushing the rear of the upper handguard down into place. |
