Oh, BTW. GP and LWRC are in the final stages of merger and a new 11K sq ft manufacturing plant is setting up in Springfield VA. Good news for those that want these.

Nice, actually very nice. How about a 16.5" (.mil measured) version for a POW? That I would bite on on a heart beat.

Barrel length is not an issue. 10.5, 14.5, 16.1 or even 12.5.

I hope for your sake that belongs to your wife.

Virginia?...does this mean no more "Hondo" TX lowers?.....

-Hope not...
Link Posted: 2/28/2006 5:23:41 PM EDT
Can I have it?
Link Posted: 2/28/2006 5:25:05 PM EDT
Considering that Hondo is literally just down the road a piece from me, I'd be very sad if they completely left Hondo.

And while "olive drab" and "sexy" really don't go together in my lexicon, that rifle sure does look good!
Link Posted: 2/28/2006 6:01:32 PM EDT
You're work, as usual, looks great, 48th. I'm definitely keen on acquiring a "Hondo" lower just as soon as you get them to market.

So, when are you going to be selling those sexy lowers?
Link Posted: 2/28/2006 6:12:46 PM EDT
I would have to say ; thats probably the closest thing to a perfect AR ever built! This is what the big Army should buy.

It doesnt get any better!
Link Posted: 2/28/2006 7:18:51 PM EDT
Big army? I dunno. But they have been spreading around the SF community.

Link Posted: 2/28/2006 7:22:42 PM EDT
Excellent! Those guys deserve such a fine weapon.

Any reviews from the SF gurus?? I bet that they Love Em!

And the bad guys Hate Em!
Link Posted: 2/28/2006 9:10:14 PM EDT
SWEET!

Right in my back yard. Interesting.
Link Posted: 3/1/2006 4:12:41 AM EDT
But can I still get Hondo, TX on my receiver? Too cool.
Link Posted: 3/1/2006 4:26:41 AM EDT
Sweeeet. All I need is another idea in my head for another AR. I had just gotten the notion out of my head for a 6.8, now I may be back in the ballgame.

GP 6.8 SPC 10.5" 1/9.5 twist CB barrel

What does the CB stand for?

Classy Babe, Combat Bitch, Chromed Barrel.... ?

I'd love a properly dimensioned 20" CL, chrome-lined, barrel.

Dave S

BTW, who made the barrel? The 1/9.5" {with the addition of CB possibly meaning Chrome-Lined}gives me the willies.
Link Posted: 3/1/2006 5:31:43 AM EDT
Chromed Bore. All our chromed barrels are ER Shaw at this juncture and NO, they aren't undersized.

We are presently exploring new barrel materials, coatings, riflings etc. to get even more performance.

Link Posted: 3/1/2006 5:51:03 AM EDT
That is a badass setup! How much would one cost?

All I need is to be teased with an uber sexy SBR when they are a no-go in WA.

Who’s the evil genius with sights my wallet? Can't wait to see what they look like in 16".

With a 16" barrel, the 6.8 hits real hard, 115gr @2,650fps. The 10.5 gets about 2,400. With SSA ammo. Remnington is 150-200fps slower.
