no-ban is equipped with flash hider and collapsable stock
post ban or ban is naked with non-collapsable stock but i think the sporter is a post-ban/during ban model |

I have a Sporter Lightweight that I bought in 1991. No bayonet lug, 16" barrel. Check the serial number with Colt thats the sure fire way

Mine has a flash hider and it came without a collapsible stock. Chrome lined barrel, 1/7 twist. I believe if I had a boyonet lug it would be too short to engage with the 16" barrel . I'm not 100% sure but thats what I've heard. I paid over $900 in 1991 for mine

I bought one in 1993 and shot it almost every time I went to the range through out the AWB to save wear and tear on my green labels. Probably put 20K thru it. Tough little gun. I put an aftermarket collapsible stock on it.

Thanks for your replys. It does not have a bayonet lug, or collapsible stock. It does have a
flashider, 16'' barrel, feedramps, and the serial number is SL 005xxx. I went to that website someone posted, and from the info posted by mm34b, then it appears to be pre ban. Thank you all for your help. I checked the EE, gunbroker, & gunsamerica and they were listed anywhere from 900 to 1150. So I guess I did alright.
