There are 3 chambers, .223 SAAMI, WYLDE, and 5.56
the .223 is the tightest chambering the 5.56 is loose and the wylde is in between. what des all this mean? 5.56 chamber will shoot 5.56 and .223 ammo, and so will wylde. the SAAMI spec chamber is used for .223 only. you want the wylde or 5.56... |

No complaints with my RRA thus far. I've shot both .223 and 5.56 with no problems at all.

thanks' guys', i was going to ask the same ?. but if the barrel is marked 5.56, then it is not a wylde chambering or have i answered my own ? just wanting to know what i do have, confused a bit. thanks' in advance. STU.

Wylde is the loosest chamber. Well, at least where it needs to be. And tight where it needs to be for accuracy.

I've been nickel-and-diming my 20" RRA Wylde at 100 yards so I'd say it’s good.

So, Wylde chambers are more common on NM rifles. (I think)
