I have seen the new Colt Commando with a 11 inch barrel, but was wondering if you can buy a 14.5 inch barrelled rifle with semi-auto trigger group and pay the 200 tax stamp?  I had a local dealer in the past who was poised to get me a Benelli semi-auto shotgun with a 14 inch barrel with the addition of the tax stamp.  Why can one be bought but not the other?

If you get the 14.5 with one of the longer flashdiders perm attatched you won't have to spend the extra $200. If you want to spent the $200, you might want the 11.5".
