I'm an armchair commando - so I'm not using it for anything tactical. It will be used on a RRA 9mm with a Vltor stock. Thanks!

Who could really tell the difference? It's just a buffer tube for Gods sake.

Exactly what part does God play in a discussion about buffer tubes?

Whoop......dee.....doo.

Buy the one that has the number of positions you want and/or buy the least expensive one because they're the same.

So clue me, what's the difference between the two (other than the obvious logo)
?

They are both mil-spec, non?  How about # of positions?

The Vltor tube has 5 positions while the CMT tube has 6.

God likes the VLTOR better because it has a sword on the back end of it.

ETA And I agree with God.

Besides the logo in the back of it, I never thought much about either one! I have both & they both adjust to where I want them to regardless if there is 5 or 6 positions.

VLTOR has a bit better finish to it.

But then again it is a buffer tube so who cares.

I prefer the Vltor finish, and I prefer 5 pos rather than 6.  Plus it comes with the stock package.

I have both, and they look to be finished just about the same to me.  I like having a 6th position, and don't care at all about the logo being there or not.  Neither is better, per se, just one has another position, and one has a logo. You decide which one is more important.

I have 2 CMT's and one Vltor extension. The Vltor has a slightly better finish but all of my stocks seem to lock up a little tighter on the CMT. Based on that, if given the choice at the exact same price, I would choose the CMT. That said, the reality is the difference is so small that I would buy which ever one I could find cheaper\easier.

Wow - I was surprised to see so many responses. I would have gotten the Vltor package but I found a good deal on a used stock body on the EE.

Vltor has 5 and CMT has 6 positions.........that means they allow the stock to stop at different lengths of pull.

I like the Vltor because I like the second position.  The CMT length of pull is eigther too short or too long.

Thats the difference.

Vltor...because they can survive a roundhouse kick from Chuck Norris.

That is impossible.  Nothing can survive a roundhouse kick from Chuck Norris.
