The rest of my rifle is tight, but I experience a little play in my buttstock.  Yes, I have tightened the screw as much as possible and no it isn't hurting anything, I was just wondering what I can do about it or if this is a common occurance?

Not that I would know anything about play in the butt(stock), but I've heard that this is fairly common....

seriously a little play is normal.  I don't know of any way to shim it or remove the play...

if it is a std a2/a1 then i would look at the nub that sits in the rear of the reciever or maybe the screw is too long.
