thank you for that post Denny.  I have the gen 1 Tac latch and it is my favorite.  All the talk about receiver wear was bothering me but not enough to get rid of the latch.  I also have 0 complaints about the latch digging into my chest even when jut wearing a T shirt and I even use a single point sling along with it.

Do you have a pic of the Gen 1 latch before the sharp hook was fixed?

Thanks,
Bill

Well Denny I ordered one each of the model 1 and model 2 Badger Ordnance tac latches from you  to give them a try. As always thanks for the good info.

Thanks Denny.  I wanted to get a Badger Latch, but kept hearing the stories.

The second generation Badger latch looks the best to me. I like the way it doesn't protrude as far.

The older one (2nd Gen) looks machined. Is the newer version MIM?

Good deal. I was judging only by what appeared to be ejection pin marks; no flame intended. Looks like a solid design to me.

I eased the edges on my Badger latch with a Dremel a while back.

Just curious, is one brand made of steel and the other aluminum?

All are made of ordnance grade steel.  4140 if my old memory serves

Denny

But is it MP stamped?
