Ive shot the Eotech's & loved them.Today I shot a Aimpoint clone & was pleased with it so I know the real thing would be the cats ass. Eotech or Aimpoint, I don't think you can go wrong either way! Maybe a bit less $$$ with the Eotech but you are not giving up quality IMO!

Aimpoint

Personal preference. The aimpoint has a 4moa dot and the Eothingy has a 50moa reticle w/ a 1moa dot in the center. The Eotech allows for more precision while IMO the Aimpoint allows quicker target aquisition with a little less pinpoint accuracy. I prefer aimpoint.

They are both good but very different. Try both and see what you like better. I like the speed the open EOtech design, and the big bright dot of the Aimpoint....so I bought an OKO.

You should add a poll for this.

Having owned both, I am all about the EOtech.  It is faster and more precise.

I've tried both. I personally like the EoTech. Cheaper due to the integrated mount, co-witness, etc.

As people have metioned, the 1MOA dot allows good precision. The 65MOA ring allows for  quick "dot acquisition" for speed.

One thing I don't like is the slowness of the brighness adjust. Multiple button presses or holding for a second, whereas the Aimpoint you just turn the dial.

In all, you can't go wrong with either.

EOTech.

The Bushnell isn't built as heavily (no roll-bar and no water-proofing).

The best out of all is the ACOG. My aimpoint will fall to one someday when I can afford optics like that.

Anyway, out of the two, I can't tell you. I love my Aimpoint. I originally wanted an EOTech, but my dealer let me try one in the store and I could flat out not use it. I found out here that people with an astigmatism sometimes have problems.

So try 'em out, and then decide.

I've been issued both and like both.  Do have my own personel Aimpoint however.  Have a Aimpoint on my AR at home and just removed the Aimpoint from my Romanian AK.  Still have the EOTech on my M4A1 right now and last year also had a EOTech on a M14 in Iraq.

Aimpoint.

Eotech is grainy as can be seen in the above picture. Eotech is also hard to adjust brightness and turn off. It features mushy rubber buttons. It turns on at either the lowest or highest setting and then you adjust from there. It takes perhaps only 2 seconds to get the thing running at a optimal brightness level. Aimpoint is much faster, you just roll your finger on the switch and your set. Aimpoints battery last much longer.
With the new ML3 and M3 you can choose between a 2 MOA dot, or a 4 MOA.

Hate to be rude, but alot of people choose the EoTech because it is cheaper. You don't need a mount and in fact you will see in the majority of the pictures on this site, most have no mount. With the EoTech you get a military style optic, that is in every way as realiable as an Aimpoint, for much less price. And, the optic is still respected by the "AR-15.com crowd"

The grainy you reference in my picture is just that..a picture. When you actually look through it, it's crisp and clear. It does have the associated "laser wiggles" but, that's just the nature of the beast.

I have the Aimpoint ML2 on a A1 Shorty. VERY FAST and if I was going to WAR I would pick it Because its a little Stonger and more water proof, more mounts

But Im going to buy a Eotech so I can take ADVANTAGE of the 1 MOA DOT be able to shoot more accurate!

DEPENDS ON YOU? which ever one you will like it

I've used both and the Eotech was just quicker for me so that's what I use on my patrol rifle.  For my uses the 65 moa ring is handy as mostly my AR is used for building clearing.

I was being sarcastic, sorry.  It's hard to go wrong with either optics.  I've always preferred Aimpoints as I have no use for a 65MOA circle of dots.  but other people do.

This is the second time you have asked this. The answer you are going to get from this board is: NO.
The reason is that the the thing isn't waterproof and doesn't have the metal shell. For range work it would be fine. But for showing off or actually using it, its worth the few extra dollars to get the EoTech.

Okay I have a question about the Aimpoint Comp M3/ML3.

Ya know how the M2/ML2 has red-ish color to the front lens when you look at it from the front? Well I've seen pics (from Del-Ton) that make the M3/ML3 look like they have a blue or green-ish color instead of red. Is it really like that?

I have been replaceing all my scopes and sights with eotech 551's. I love them and find the open design super fast to aim and shoot. I can also shoot alot father out than I thought I would be able too with only a 1X sight. I also use my eotechs in front of my 3rd gen NV monos which works great I find the aimpoint to have to small of a FOV when used with my NV just does not work as well. Aimpoint is still a first class I sight I like them also just not as much as the eotech for my use's.

Kind of surprised nobody bumped this over to the optics forum, but I'll vote Aimpoint. Both are cool, but with my eyes, the 4 moa dot is faster.
