Hello All,

I have a Bushmaster AR with a muzzle break on the end. The holes in the muzzle break have a blueish color to them. What is it?

I have only shot Winchester white box ammo through this gun for the last 3 years. I would say it probably only has about 2000 rounds through it.

Thanks
Tom

That blue goo is the result of bore cleaner running out of the end of your barrel after cleaning. Use q-tips and CLP to get into the holes and clean it out.

I believe its some kind of reactions between the metals, no need to worry

It is the bullet metal blasted onto the muzzle device, which has started to corrode and turn greenish/blue. You can get rid of it by cleaning it as agressively as you clean the bore, or just don't worry about it. Its just cosmetic anyway. I leave mine until it corrodes a little, then I brush out the excess.

I hope this helps.
