Then it's also safe to assume that *everything* on a LE6921 is "mil-spec" ?

Not the Fire Control Group.  But everything else should basically be M4 parts.

How about CMMG and here is why they have the edge.Im not entertaining SEBRs cause more people own regular civilian legal..so CMMG has a 14.7 1/7 permanent A2 birdcage hider twist chrome lined 4150 chrome moly steel barrel, thats MP tested and proof tested,F marked FSB and M4 feedramps,M4 profile or SOCCOM profile in 14.7/permanent A2 birdcage barrels.Standard sized parts. Its only non spec feature is the telestock..so change its stock to a stag or CMT telestock and thats the closest civilian legal clone..and the parkerize the barrel under the FSB.I have the 14.7 soccom profile and quality is just as good as colt for $100 less for the assembly.

Is a Colt SBR going to be substatially better than one of the RRA Tactical series?

Colt is not my brand of choice, but no one else offers a better M4gery plain and simple.

Actual M4 stock.
Real M4 profile barrel.
M4 feed ramps.
M4 roll marks.
Dual heat shield M4 handguards.
MP tested bolts and barrels.
Same bolt carrier as used in the real M4.
More than likely the 6920 uppers were made right along side the real M4 uppers.

Basically, everything but the lower and the fire control group is made to exact M4 specification. There is no getting closer to a semi auto M4 then the 6920.

I would spend the extra 100, if I was that close.

I was once told the 6921 is only sold with full-auto capability (select-fire).  After reading the above responses, I will assume that is not true.  Anyone know where to get one, they seem very difficult to find.

Except that FCG.
That is a deal breaker for me - i like my parts to be mil-spec.
Any reason Colt doesn't use std size FCG pins?

I would assume to keep you from installing a Mil-spec FCG. But thats just a guess

Thats a loaded question, with as many answers as their are opinions here

In a word........Yes, it is

For the casual, paper-punching, once-a-month, couch-commando? YES, but not as much.

Whether Colt likes it or not, is it possible to get their SBR rifle without going through a lot of hoops and rigamorole?  And how would one do that?

Colt doesnt mind

To acquire any rifle with a barrel less than 16" long has legal requirement.

A comprehensive review can be found ------------> HERE <-----------------------

In short, submit paperwork and $200, wait for approval, and take your shorty home. (that process usually takes between 45 and 145 days depending on a number of factors)
