Right on dude - keep ARs where they belong - in the field!

ha, no, not yet anyway.

That means that this carbine is a man's carbine and no "mantle queen" or "Gun Rack Sweetheart".

AR-15s are meant to be in the dirt, in the mud, getting down to business. hank

That's what mine looked like when I tripped and fell decided to take cover from those war hardened coyotes.

When I went for my EFMB, my unit armorer wouldn't let me take my M-4. So, he gave me a stock M-16. The BFA is a rule for the EFMB. My "patient" is holding the weapon for the camera.

Thankyou for these... glad to see another person who uses the damn things....

I donno what happened to me this past month, but I get annoyed everytime I see an AR without a scratch on it.

I am suprised that thing would run, you kow with all the tight tolerances on a M16. I am sure the Military will change its collective mind, and buy AK from now on out........

OMG it is filthy and the selector is on set to "Fire"

I'm telling mom.

the carbine has a SureFire rail on it and it locks into the barrel nut so there isnt a lot of pressure to force the delta ring or spring compressed. The delta ring dosent hold the Sure Fire on like regular hand guards.

It looks like a brand new gun with a little bit of dust splashed on it. Kinda reminds me of the Rice Crispies treat commercials where the wife douses herself with white flour in order to look like she worked really hard to make them.

Having an AR and not letting it get dirty is like trying to have sex but not get any on your dick. It was designed to work dirty.

I've fired a full 210 rounds from an A2 that was that dirty, in both semi and burst. Not a single problem. It was so bad it was gritty sounding when I chambered the first round. My very first field problem (other than "Trash Eagle" picking up trash from training areas ). But then AR's/M16's aren't supposed to be even that reliable according to some AK fantics (and I like those too, only have a cheap one right now though).

I hope you don't ming, but I stole that for my sig-line......funniest stuff I've read in awhile...

It ran like a champ. I love my armorer. Yeah...I know the selector was on "fire". I gave my EFMB instructor/guide the Blackhawk Down answer. When he said it's got a mag in it (before the pic), how does he know it's empty? I threw the rifle back in the pit and said...that's where it belongs since you didn't issue us any ammo!

Seriously though, when I got back to my tent that night, I just sprayed the whole rifle down, wiped it down with WD40 and then CLP. When I went to the innerds, there were small traces of dirt/mud on the interior (I'm very good about closing my cover if I'm not using the rifle) so I pulled out my Bore-Snake, wiped down the bolt and carrier and good to go. The NCOIC's at our EFMB were puzzled when I pulled out the 'snake. They'd never seen one before. Kind of funny how little you find people in the military actually know about firearms.

But WAIT! I thought you were just supposed to take your AR to the range, follow their rules & shoot it off the sand bags (slow fire) month after month, year after year. You guys actually SHOOT your ARs in their natural environments?!?!?!

Seriously , thanks for the pics. Funny how on this site, you will get about a zillion pictures of guys with "safe queen" high dollar, pimped-out guns that they probably can't shoot well at all. But if you want to see ARs in the field, in competition, in the dirt, you get - what, 5 or 6 pics? There's a lesson here.

this thread has re-affirmed my faith. after countless gear threads where all these guys take all the most fashionable gear they have bought(and never use) to stay bleeding edge, pile it up to look like all cool, then take a bunch of pictures when its painfully obvious that it only gets used for mirror posing and clearing their own livingroom BWHAHAHA. thanks guys, i needed to see this.

Hey, that's the HK416! If I remember right, those pictures were taken at the Yuma Proving Grounds.

Now THAT is dirty. He didn't trip and fall though, he's all clean... looks like he dropped it or intentionally got it muddy? Well anyways, looks good! Mines never gotten that sort of treatment (it gets lovingly rubbed down with silicone cloths... :) ... yet.
