Carbine.
Way more fun to squirt out round after round than worry about cleaning you barrel after 5 shots

Narrow your scope to: What do I want my FIRST to be. There will be others, there always are.
So build one of each, its the ARFCOM way. |

Mind if I jump in on this? I am also looking to build my first gun. I have looked at all the pics and I know what I want it to look like. I want a very accurate gun but only want to spend up to $1,500 , I will be shooting mostly 200 yrds, but want to be able to shoot up to 500 or more.

Check the hometown forums for a club in your area. You may be able to meet with some people in your area and shoot some different setups to see what you like the best. Just bring some ammo
