I thought that Otis buttstock cleaning kits were... you know... suppose to fit in the buttstock?

Took me an hour to figure out how to fit it. Finally I ended up taking the kit out of its little pack and just putting the parts of the kit in the buttstock compartment on their own... That's not what I wanted to do, but it wouldn't fit any other way.

What am I doing wrong?

I would say put it in your pocket or buttpack if you're out in the bush.  Otherwise, if it's a range thing, your range bag could work too...  If it's a requirement that you're to keep it in the a2, then just pick up a usgi, perfect fit...
