Glad to hear that your business is flourishing and that you're moving to Industry Partner status. That seems eminently appropriate given what you do! It's nice to have an outfit that takes customer service as seriously as you do on board here. Just for my understanding......is MGI separate from ABS, a subsidiary, a business partner? Congrats again. |

Actually, they are 2 separate companies entirely, with no connection other than me being the factory rep for both of them. I just happened upon ABS in my own search for carbon fiber barrels for my own gun, and ordered one from Mike. I loved what I got, and since I'm a gun company rep that needed barrels for our MGI QCB product, I engaged in some conversation about expanding his marketing. He agreed, and I became the rep for ABS. So, it is interesting that I am actually the factory representative for 2 totally different companies that have no other connection besides me. Of course, since I am in contact with both companies, and do have input on what is going on in both companies, it appears that there might be a connection, but it is not any official connection as far as ownership or management. |

We haven't had our 2006 marketing strategy meeting yet, so I don't have any info on what types of promotional events we may decide on yet. We always like to do something at least once a year on our various items, if possible. |

Ask, and ye shall receive! Remember, barrels are quick change, and magwells are quick change, and all these configurations shown here can be switched from one to another very quickly, all on the same gun. Many more are possible than shown here, but these are a couple of typical examples. MGI Modular System with AR15 magwell in a shorty entry-barrel configuration  MGI Modular System with AR15 magwell in a SOPMOD-style duty carbine configuration  MGI Modular System with AK magwell and 7.62x39 barrel and AK mag in carbine configuration.  MGI Modular System with AR magwell and 20" SPR-style configuration with rifle-length gas system and quick-detach handguard extension tube, with suppressor installed.  More magwells for hi-cap pistol caliber mags and rimfire caliber mags will be coming out as we progress. Many more specialty options planned,also. Serial number is on the rear half of the modular lower receiver, so different caliber magwells can be added to your collection without FFL. System uses normal AR15 type barrels(not proprietary) and normal magazines that you can find anywhere(not proprietary). |

As far as .308 goes, we are not making any statements about that right now. Yeki, 10/22 magwell is definitely on the list! We will also have a barrel and action conversion to go in the upper for it. Working on that right now, and it's pretty close. Magwell may take a little while. |

Love that 357 Sig carbine package you've got there Ryan!
You're the only one that I know that is using that caliber in a QCB, and I think it is a cool caliber. And that 9mm package from ABS with the can on it, is a true work of art! That's one of the advantages of a system like the MGI QCB. You really have a huge amount of choices that you can make with it. Also, we will definitely be offering dedicated magwells for both the 9mm, and 45ACP, for our modular lower later this year, so you won't need those mag-blocks anymore! Great Pics!!!! |

We expect to release new mag wells about every 3 to 6 months. The Grease Gun mag well is slated to be one of the first ones released in the pistol calibers. I would expect to see that before June. If we can get it out earlier, we will. We are trying to move as quickly as possible, but it takes at least a few months to get any new item out the door. |

The trigger guard front pin in one of the holding points on the magwell.
I don't know if the Magul trigger guard will work with this system, or not. We have not tried it. And yes, the serial number is located on the rear portion of the receiver, so magwells are non-serialized, and you don't need an FFL to buy magwells. |

Yes, there is a very good chance for that. We anticipate making magwells to work with a variety of duty-pistol magazines, for those who wish to have magazine compatibility between their duty carbine and their sidearm. Glock mags would be very high on the list for that type of application. I can't make any speculation on how soon those future magwells might appear, however. We do expect to have them in due time, though. |

Had a nice meeting over the weekend, and we got a small number of "inital production/Beta" units in the door. Pricing has been set for these units, and we will be contacting the people who have contacted us regarding purchase of these first units. These units will have both STAG ARMS and MGI roll-marks on them. Later units will have only MGI roll-marks on them.
I will be putting the new ad up for the MGI Modular Lower on the EE, probably sometime this week. The configurations set for these initial units being sold are: Complete Modular Lower, with AR15 magwell, and full lower parts kit w/buttstock and all internals. Then the AK magwell and modded bolt carrier will be sold separately as "caliber conversion parts". We are doing this to keep the price down, because adding up everything together starts to get pretty expensive. This way, people can get the lower with AR15 magwell to get started, and then add caliber conversion parts as they go along. It reduces initial expenditures for those who can't afford to get it all at once. I'll post prices on the EE ad for all the packages and items. |

There isn't any last-round BHO feature on the AK magwell. Whether it can be included on other magwells will remain to be seen. That was a very good question. Thanks. |

How about a magwell that uses Sig 551, AUG, or G36 mags? Would be neat to have the see-through capability. Not much more than a novelty, really.

Those mags are not under consideration at this time, but the AR magwell will fit the new Beta-Mag with the clear back on it, and also the MWG 90-rounder with the clear back. We are kind of going for the most popular, and more readily available and less-expensive types of mags, and the clear mag isn't a big priority for us at this time. |

We have received a number of requests for magwell that will accept Thompson SMG mags. Although the Grease Gun magwell is slated to be the first 45ACP magwell to release, there could be more than one 45ACP magwell to become available, just like there may be more than one 9mm magwell becoming available. We will try to make the most requested magwells be the earliest ones released. I can't make any promises on future magwells at this time, but if there is enough interest in any magwell, it would behoove us to make it. |
